N91 v2.10.013 FIRMWARE!

Well when i double click, it takes about 30 seconds before i am presented with the nokia software updater welcome page. what happens when you start the updater, does it just sit there - loading application -

one more thing, have you installed the nokia pc suite - though its not really required (at this point) there are certain drivers that are neeed - then again the updater software should prompt you to install these if you do not have the latest ones. Do you have the latest nokia pc suite installed? if you dont, did you recieve a message asking you to install the latest usb drivers (i think thats what they are), during the installation of the software updater?
i remember recieving a message like this the first time i tried it.

another thing, if you're running windows xp and using the windows xp firewall or any other firewall for that matter, do you have the following in the firewall exceptions:

Nokia Service Layer host Process
nsu_ui_client
.
If you dont. then turn off the firewall or add these to the exceptions.

The service layer host process using the following binary:
.
:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\Service Layer\nsl_host_process.exe
.
Whereas the nsu_ui_client uses:
.
Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Software Updater\nsu_ui_client.exe
.
Another thing you can do is remove the updater program. Install again, then start updater it should prompt you to allow/deny either both or the nsu_ui_client access to your network. Choose to allow them, or whichever one you are prompted for.

HELP im been trying ot update mi n91 but it says tha my software is already up to date but im in 2.0 someone said that its due the region but someone kwos when it will be the 2.10 for n91 of asia regions??

I've just formatted and installed windows again, downloaded PC suite and the updater, turned my firewall off and tried the updater, again its just hanging... pretty infuriating

grimlock It is region locked as well as locked by your provider. Providing you bought your phone locked to a provider. It will take a while to get the firmware for your phone i believe even some people cant get 2.0 yet. so be patient.

Are you running PC suite and the Updater at the same time? If so make sure PC suiet is completely off and try again

Is your phone a branded operator phone? The Operators it seems have been slow in approving the sw and it may be that your update is not there.

Last I heard they were at 2.00 (which is almost as good as 2.10 but you need to download the sms accelerator app). Maybe you need to bring it in and get it flashed at the Nokia service centre?

I have tried the Nokia softwareupdater only to be told that ther is no software update for my N91. As the firmware version of my phone is v1.10.030 this can't be correct and there must be some restricting process impeding the upgrade.
Is there another way of flashing the phone besides using the Nokia updater?

Is your phone an operator phone (O2, Voda etc?). There have been some stragglers in approving 2.10 from what I hear.

The other option ofcourse is simply going to a service centre

Majormen....ya can go to a nokia service center and have it flashed with generic software, some will do it for free while others will charge £10-15. Dont take it to Nokia services at a carphone warehouse though cos some of them ask you for letters of consent from your service provider. Hope this helps ya matey

hello there..... a while bac ter is a thread that guides u through this process.... might want to look it up.... just search it.... like Nokia Software Updater.... or what ever.... anyway... not everyone will get v2.0 or v2.1 because of diffrent reasons main are if ur phone is locked to a certain operator.... and where u bought ur phone from...... so if it says no update it available DONT PANIC.... ur phone is OK...lol
