Hi,
I have a faulty A835, which multiple repair/returns have failed to resolve.

I phoned up CS to discuss and they were pretty helpful and offered to exchange for a replacement A835, A925 or LG 8110. As i need BT the LG is out. A925 looks good value, but gosh is it huge.

I read the A1000 is out soon, but I'm guessing there'd be ZERO chance of being getting one of those as a replacement, I'm sure there's sufficient recon'd 925/8110s around for a while yet, and offloading them as replacement is a fine way to get rid of them

So a fair offer - what do you CS guys/gals think?

If I took a 925 do you think they'd send one large battery instead of the two regular ones? (suspect no!)

I'd take the A925. It's big, but very nice. And yes you do get two batteries, but the charging base will keep your spare on a trickle charge, whilst charging the one in your handset.

PS. I'm not CS, just know someone who has an A925

I took the A925, and despite CS originally telling me I should get two batteries (one extended) as well as the normal package, in fact I only got a phone and charger. I called back, and was told I'd get sent the missing items. A small package arrived containing another charger (!) and one battery. Following this up I was told that was all I was going to get.

Anyway it's complex so I've emailed them at customer.services@3mail.com (this is the address my handset had). Is this appropriate? What other email addresses are valid (I've also used contact.centre@three.co.uk)

So basically they've sent you a refurbished A925 without so much as a box and manual? That's awful. :(

I'd leapfrog email and try and contact head office directly - by phone or post.

Not quite as bad as that!

I got
- A925 phone
- battery cover
- battery
- headset
- software CD
- manual
- quick reference
but *not*
- second battery (stated it would be extended, they have since sent a second STANDARD one)
- desktop dock
- case (pouch)
- SD card
- USB cable (this they accept was an error, however I'd kept my old one, so they may have done this intentionally)

I tried to pin them down on the battery beforehand due to me knowing the battery life was shorter than the A835.

Anyway I can't face calling CS yet again (think it was more than hour last week) so am looking for a good email or (less preferable) fax address to try as I have all the history / CS rep names etc to quite, much easier to manage in written form.

I guess if I don't get an address and/or response I'll just write. It does bug me when hi-tech companies don't have good email service. (I've had very GOOD experiences for example with Samsung [they're the best - about 1-2 hour response times!], epson, many small companies).

Normal content of the box is two standard batteries.
Nice phone, sadly huge and not able to perform to it's full capabilities due to the walled garden. Does need a daily charge though, but with picodrive and Smartmovie installed you forgive it's size and battery life.

Sadly.......communicating with any company is a hassle these days and , ironically the more the company has to do with the communications business ......the poorer its own communication with the customer seems to be.

Shame really that.......as I wish three well in their efforts as this would really annoy me if when I have reason to contact them........fingers crossed I wont!

I am gonna be very interested in the others efforts to get 3g up and running........perhaps they have the advantage of hindsight and learning from three's mistakes...........so it aint all bad after all.
