Right now I'm miles from any 3G coverage and have GPRS. For some reason, I'm suddenly able to access Today on 3 and all the services as if I was in a 3G area! It's very slow but it is working none-the-less.

It's certainly nice to have proper access to 3's content when not in 3G coverage.

Why on earth don't 3 TELL US when they're going to do such things!

Now all we need is full Internet access...

Cool :D

Wouldn't imagine it's much good for downloading video clips etc over... then again I never found Three's 3G service particularly fast. You'll have to give it a go!

AFAIK some services have always been accessible on the Motos in 2.5G areas. My NEC e606 would only work in strong 3G coverage though, which was annoying. Made me wish I'd bought a Moto (ack!).

Internet access is coming soon! Just not on Three... :P

hmmm. It's now gone back to giving the stupid "You are now outside the video service area" message.

I did download a video earlier and it was actually reasonably fast, it was just loading the pages which was slow for some reason.

Surely 3 couldn't have accidentially given everyone full access? Could they?

Well I'm certainly not happy now. I thought 3 had actually done something right for once!

Just tried it again and now it's working! Something strange is going on...

You are obviously in a border area and getting the usual stuff. don't get excited - 02 dont carry anything on GPRS for 3 other than premium content and that wont change as it would cost 3 too much to send their data over the 02 network.

I can assure you that the nearest 3G coverage to me is nearly 20 miles away on the other side of a great mass of hills and 3 don't even plan to cover my area.

I am definitely getting full access to 3 content while on GPRS, but it seems to be intermittent.

3 must have screwed something up (fancy that) to allow it temporarily...

*wonders if it can be accessed on Orange etc...* ;)

Perhaps O2 at least, but I don't have a SIM available that I could try on (they're all in modems).

When I'm in a 2.5G area I can normally get to Today On 3 and the full Services menu but can't open any links except for the normal 2.5G accessible stuff.

I had this a few months ago - lasted about a day, never to return

Videos on gprs were a little slow, but otherwise great.

I'm sure it's a temporary artificat of sw upgrades etc & likely to go away as quick as it came (sadly)

Full content is working for me too, downloading a clip from the Movies section as we speak. Strange it wasn't working yesterday but I am definately in a 2.5G area.

I've got full three today page, but haven't really tried much yet. my phone has been dodgy since It reset itself completely a few weeks ago. It is an NEC E616, noticed before that no games are listed and I can't get email through the browser. Very Bizzarre

Getting the same thing here in Thame, Oxford.

It's a bit hit and miss but full services are working.

Downloaded a music vid (would not advise it) it took nearly an hour!!.

I tried to download a news update last night while in the 2.5G area and I left it 15 minutes and it had only transferred 43%! So I gave up...

Has been working in Leicester since last Friday when you go to the outskirts and the phone starts roaming. Clips take 2-3 times longer to download, browsing news and menus seems about the same.

Remember that GPRS is (at best) at the speed of a 14.4kbps modem.

And 3G at best is 115kbps.
