View Full Version : T-mobile - You're a shocker - E51 related
I have given T-mobile enough time on this one so I will now reveal all!
Go to the T-mobile site www.t-mobile.co.uk and look through the pay monthly phones.
On page 4 you will find the E51 and the E51 with copilot.
Go to view details and then phone features.
In the connectivity section you will find that this phone is advertised as having a built in GPS receiver.
Now get on to customer services and tell them that the phone has been misrepresented with misleading advertising and haggle some compensation. You have the right to cancel your contract.
I did it and would be interested in any results forum members negotiate.
errors and omissions excepted!
Except it's not an error or an ommission when they have been informed of the misadvertising on no less than seven occassions over the last four weeks and the page is still up!
That's just lazy and misleading.

i agree that they should get the specs of the phone correct, but you havent suffered any loss by them making an error,
therefore compensation would get laughed out the window.
the tmobile site also referes to co-pilot as "co-pilot software",
its ALWAYS up to the customer to ensure compatability

I can confirm that i have done this and yes they do give out compensation. Customer relations said that i was well within my rights to cancel my contract as i had been miss sold a product.
I ended up with about £100 off of my bill so i don't have to pay anything for the next 3 months.
By saying "you suffered no loss" is stupid. I bought the phone as it said on thier site that it has an internal gps reciever and when i used the phone it did not. I see that as quite a disadvantage. Its like saying you can make calls on the phone and when you get it you can only send text messages.

what "loss" are you referring to
what "loss" are you referring to
I think that it just may be a reference to your use of the word.
Anyway, the loss is the use of GPS because it isn't there!

The loss is a "built in GPS receiver"!
Imagen making a claim under insurance for the theft of your insured N95 and they give a Nokia 3210 as a replacement with a note saying a phone is a phone and oh by the way here is a cheap PDA from Argos to make up for the additional features your missing with the 3210.
Which ever way you look at it your missing the built in GPS receiver and an external one does not make up for that legally.
The post has been deleted that this quote was refering to
Re-read my original post and check the web pages (if they are still up) that I refer to.
They clearly advertise an E51 and an E51 with Co Pilot as having a built in GPS receiver which it does not.
But then I said all that in my original post. Didn't I? Oh, maybe not. Its all a dream after all. I'm sitting on the dock of the bay and Ricky and Bianca will live happily ever after.
Sorry, that last bit was for another post over on the magic mushroom forum, but it's a good example of what really doesn't make sense, along with-
they sell the phone with co pilot and a gps reciever, so what on earth are you talking about
Anyway, it's been a long night here at Holby city with nothing to do but post in forums and the like. Must dash as I can see flashing blue lights pulling me over for speeding. These Zondas are quick, you know.:alien:

Thanks pav!
I got a bit close to blowing it there.
T-mobile have updated the pages relevant to the E51, but, they still maintain that it has built in GPS.
What a shower!

Glad I caught this thread, just queried this with t-mobile 2 weeks after getting my non-CoPilot E51, and managed to get a replacement with the CoPilot version + GPS module for nowt :)
Cheers pa49 :D

None as yet as it's not in stock at the mo (but I have the name & direct access number for the CR rep, so I'm happy she'll keep to her word!).
Do you get an option then?

I took a large monetary discount on my tariff.
Their web pages are still wrong!
