An Explanation Of App-Signing
Since the recent re-organisation of Symbiansigned.com, the only apps that are known to be able to be signed as of now, unless you have a Developer Certificate or a Publisher ID, are the ones listed above. Because of the coding used in some other popular free apps that need to be signed, Symbiansigned rejects them. Unless Symbiansigned alters its' policy (which is very unlikely), in order to get these apps to sign, the programmers need to change the way that they are written.
Developer Certificate: These were available until recently and locked to individual IMEI numbers, meaning that owning one only means that you can sign apps to run on your own phone, no-one else's!
Publisher ID: Still available and means that if you have one, you can sign an app to run on any IMEI of your choice... BUT! These Publisher ID's cost 200 USD per year and are each limited to a maximum of 1,000 signings... So asking someone with a Publisher ID to sign an app for you is unlikely to bring results, as the odds are that they'll have bought it as developers, for their own use in beta-testing, etc.
