Exact day isnt known yet but it should be sometime early in Q3. Build quality looks ok from early reviews but all shall be revealed in good time. Something tells me though that it will be solid like on the N95 8gb. N96 isnt meant to be a mass market phone as it has DVBH which we wont even use in the UK so it really will be a premium phone. The premium handsets are normally very well built - N93, n93i ect.
