Q3 2008 is the release estimate. I would keep my eye out from June onwards for sim free, but will probably take longer to filter onto the networks

Yes, its due out 3Q, which means between July and Sept, quite a way away yet!
I thought it would of been earlier than the 3rd quarter :(
I guess they are holding back to push the sales of the N81 and N82 1st...

Also note, unless you're buying sim free it may appear a lot later.

boy am i stuck between a rock and hard place.
get an n95 8gb and the n96 come out a few weeks later or wait and wait for ages.

everywhere i see says Q3 whatever that means. i thoguht that was the 3rd quarter lol maybe not but it also says May so....is it worth hanging on

As there is very little in the phone that's really new, I cannot see why Nokia don't already have the phone ready for manufacturing. The mobile tv feature is new, but most places can't get that anyway. The storage is larger, but there's not much else that requires a lot of testing and finetuning - I would have thought Nokia have got it down to a fine art by now, after the N95 8Gb.
So the only reason why it has a Q3 release date must be to do with marketing.

I wouldn't be so sure - am I right in assuming the N96 will be using the next series 60 software? I will say September at the earliest, they always tend to release it right at the end of the announced period.
Hi ya, does anyone know if orange will take it on and supprise us all. or do we have to wait until they sell all their n95 8gb stock first which will be forevere then complete their ''lets mess up the software'' test for 3 months

Definitely going to be the next phone I get when my contract is up for renewal. Gotta wait until September though...grr. Hopefully T-Mobile will have this phone :D

I doubt they will. They wouldnt even take the N81 8gb and this is a much more niche phone so I really wouldnt expect Orange to take it.

I heard June for its release
anyone remember the N93? i think it was or is it the 92? im not sure, that supported DVB-H then it was delayed, then delayed again and in the end was never released in the uk (due to the fact the UK did not have DVB-H coverage.)
Not trying to upset anyone but i think this could go the same way!

6 months later and no sign yet??? i have had my 95 for a 1 1/2 years now, still going strong
