N95 8gb First Charge Issues

Just got an N95. I've put it on to charge. Its been charging for a couple of hours now and all it does is stay on a backlit white screen and occaisonally the blue Nokia logo appears before going back to a white screen. Is this normal behavior for a first charge?

Doesn't sound right.

Have you turned the phone on at all?

You don't have to "condition" the battery in the N95 like you used to have to with older batteries so it's safe to try switching it on.
