My 18-month contract with Vodafone was due to expire on 16th January so in early December, I wrote a letter stating that I wished to end the contract, also emailing on this. I received a reply confirming receipt of the letter, and that the contract would end on the 16th. They suggested I might like to keep the phone as PAYT which I agreed.
On the 16th the account hadn't changed so I emailed again asking how I used the account as PAYT. Today I received a reply ignoring all previous agreements and saying they would take 30 days to again cancel the contract from the 17th February. I have today cancelled the direct debit to avoid money being taken forever, and emailed asking that the agreed cancellation be honoured. Whilst using the account, I had no problems with Vodafone, but feel this failure to keep to agreed actions is very poor.

When you completed the online contact form did you receive a reply with a reference code? If you let me know the code I can find the case and take it on personally.

Thanks for the offer. The reference was 4672854. I had an email today saying the mistake was acknowledged and the original date of cancellation will be honoured (moving to PAYT). I may still get a final bill but any difference form the 16th to 21st will be refunded if so. Hopefully this sorts it.

Guess what. I've just had a letter dated 7th March asking me to pay £19.35. No explanation and my online access was removed with the contract so I can't check it. I haven't used the phone in 2008 so it's not call charges and the contract ended on 16th Jan so why a bill in March?
I'm willing to pay but need a breakdown to be sure the contract end date was honoured.

If you get in contact with us we'll look into it and fix it for you, as if you haven't used the phone this year and it cancelled in January you shouldn't be receiving charges now.
