I use the SanDisk V Mate for timeshifting TV prgrammes onto my N95 so consequently change cards quite alot. Recently the rigid part of the flap came away from its rubber strap and so I took it in to my local Nokia Service Center to get it sorted out under the warranty. Not covered by the warranty they told me:confused: , physical damage they said is not covered by the warranty. So what about my mate's external volume control which has stopped working I asked. Ah well they said, that is covered despite being physical damage because other N95 owners have had that problem and so its on Nokia's list of warranty issues. I couldn't leave my phone's inside exposed to the elements and so the end result was that I had to pay £35 to get a whole new casing and have it fitted:( . As I left they agreed to refund me my cash if I could prove other people have had the same problem and get Nokia to add it to their warranty issues list.

So am I alone with this problem or has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know how to contact Nokia to get this included on their warranty list?

I'm concerned that this is going to happen again and I'll end up spending £35 on a regular basis.

Thanks for reading my post

PS Does anyone else have a V Mate and if so what settings do you use?

I don't have a V Mate but you can buy replacement flaps from L8shop.net for as little as £1.42

You don't need no expert to replace the flap either. You remove the back housing which is v. easy and then just place the flap in the correct position.

Shame you paid £35 for Nokia to repair it.
