So, any idea where the cheapest place to get an unlocked N82 is?
Also, if I bought one from someone in Hong Kong off ebay, is it likely to work as well as one bought in UK. ie. will it connect to the 3G networks?

Cheapest and safest would be to probably be to wait for a UK operator to release. Althought I do buy new handsets from Ebay I would not get one from Hong Kong due to possible probs with tax and also if you have a EU warranty.

prod code is different from region to region, ie a uk o2 branded handset may have a different code to voda etc as they have different startups, menus and screens extras and sometimes operators cancel parts like orange used to disable voip on the n95,
if you change to a euro code it still works your sim, find settings etc but you get rid of all stupid, voda o2 add ons tones and screens. plus if you try to update software euro codes get it way sooner the voda o2 etc.
if you get a uk o2 n82 you will have to wait for ages for them to get new nokia software, change it etc
product codes also allow you to pick which languages you want on your phone etc

hi,
it sounds good. But where can find the codes and how to change it?

codes are found on internet using search methods eg "n95 euro 1 product code" you will find a list more research will give you language packs included ie euro 1 and 2
euro also unbrands the phone ie rid of splash screens and built in short cuts ie planet 3 voda live etc BUT wont unlock it, but when you check for software via nsu it thinks you are unbranded and offers latest software, no restrictions oher that what your provider stops you doing.
also search for nss for changing prod code, not illegal but if phone is in warranty may void the warranty, thats all
