Yep, still having problems with my great N-Series Phone

charged it up yesterday, pressed the top of the phone to turn it on, it wouldnt turn on!
i had to remove the battery and then put it back in again, then it worked!
and then again today, the phone turnt itself off and didnt come back on again, also getting re-starts aswell, i have NO 3rd party applications on it, also have the very latest firmware for it..
the phone was Direct from Nokia...
have reinstalled the firmware 3 times already! makes NO difference

so far, (as of 1.00pm) the phone is working ok.. dont know how long for though

i have lost the will to live with Nokia, dont know where to go now
ALL their phones are plagued with problems, phone after phone, same old thing.... re-starts, freezing, buggy software etc etc etc

I think I might be able to see a pattern here......

Waynesters + Nokia = Disaster

Do you have similar problems with other makes of smartphones?

Why did you ever change from the original N95 - it took you about 30 of them before you were happy?

Didnt come on here for a Lecture! lol

i changed from the OLD N95, had 8 of them!
thought that they HAD to improve surely?
again....... i was proved wrong!

i also have a Nokia E90 Communicator, that is fine...no problems

must be the N-Series...... all substance but with Problems all the time

No lecture intended - I would have quit while I was ahead though.

My Brother has the new Sony Ericsson and that has spent more time being repaired than it has in his hands so its not just Nokia that are turning out unreliable crap.

thought about trying the W960, but screen isnt as good as N-Series
it has had Mixed Reviews
they are still on rubbishy type screens....
i suppose you cant win on everything ey?

i also own a Nokia N91 8GB aswell as the E90
this is just used for Playing MP3`s on, the Audio Quality is beyond belief
have used it as a phone now and then, no problems at all :)

it just seems to be N95 and N95 8GB

yeah, you are right, i should have learnt my lesson

I get the same on the N95 standard, the odd crash where the battery needs to be removed to fix, rebooting and even switches itself off sometimes and i cannot turn it on unless i remove battery and replace it!

This is my second handset as the first was freezing all the time, the 12 hours i used it it froze 12 times, This phone has worked fine for a week apart from a couple of crashes but today has been a bad day for my lil N95!

Not getting anymore Nokia's after this, The quality of their handsets have gone down hill beyond belief!!

I have a Sim Free N95-1 Graphite running V20.0.015 and it's brand new only a week old! Crap.....
(I only got it cause everyone said how great V20 was or is! Yea right.)

I went to the carephone warehouse today to see if they have heard of this rebooting/resetting etc... and they had... They said it's a software issue!

I knew about the freezing and having to take out the battery and to be honest my second handset has been pretty good up to today that is!!

First time i seen the rebooting/resetting was today happened about three times this morning, as for the switching off and staying off well that happened for the first time today too. I did have several applications installed on the phone etc... and was advised to do a factory reset and install everything to my 2gig memory card instead so....

I did a *#7370# reset, then re-flashed my phone with the latest firmware and once done i removed all applications installed on the phone via the applications manager program...

Uploaded my mp3's to my memory card, installed garmin xt back on the memory card and so far left it at that and all has been ok so far! But no doubt i just jinxed myself!!

Phone seems to be stable and running fairly quick when access menu's etc...

Fingers Crossed!!!!!!!!

I've had my Nokia N95 8GB now for about 2 months.

V15 firmware, 3rd party apps installed and not had an ounce of problems.

Friend of mine has the same phone and same firmware and his was fine until he smeared the back of it with grease, it went down hill quickly after that.............!

Keep tasting the gravy.

All the Best

He had the K850i. Nice phone, but never worked properly - problems with the keypad dying. Apparently they have had lots of problems with them.

today i wiped the phone, formatted the memory etc, then i did a reset on it
i then re-installed the firmware on it, done 1 more reset and then added all my pictures, sounds and contacts back onto the handset

lets see IF that stops the problems

i hope so!

Make sure you did what i did, once you format the phone and re-install the firmware wipe anything you don't need off the handset using the application manager then upload all your stuff but save it to the memory card!

I used my phone a lot yesterday and it's been speedy and has not had any problems so i guess it may have helped me at least...

Test it for a few days and see if that makes a difference, I know your handset has 8GB of built in memory etc... and you want to make use o it but it may narrow down the problem!

Where are you installing apps to? Flash memory or phone memory?

Waynesters

i am installing my 1 APP to the mass memory of the phone and NOT into the phones memory, the APP is only 431kb in size

the app is called SKYCALLER (standard version)

so far, the phones been ok today

if i have no problems in 7 days, i will be HAPPY :)

I also went through 8 N95 phones and learned a valuable lesson, to change to a different phone and quick!!!

I too have the Nokia E90 Communicator and after three months it's still going strong with no issues.:) :) :)
