Hi, I finaly decided to just go for it and get a nokia N82 sim free this week and recived it yesterday and it is brilliant, i just poped my vodafone contract sim into it and everything worked fine, BUT i seem to have one problem - when i connect to vodafone live all i get is the text on the pages that i go on, no pictures or anything else just text  Ive tried all the settings i can find but to no joy  So i was just wondering if anybody would know anything about this issue and how to solve it or if anybody else has had this issue when putting there vodafone sim card into there sim free N82.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Dave,
to use Voda Live! you need Vodafone branded phone. So any sim free (non-branded device) won't be able to acces to Live! portal.

Hi Rexton270, Thanks for your reply. That dont make sence though as i brought a samsung D600 a while back and that was sim free and vodafone live worked with no problems atall  i will have to pop into the vodafone shop when i get a min and ask them about it then because i just dont have a clue.

Hi Dave,
I don't know what's the story with D600 but with Nokias is to same. When I tried connect live! it says:your phone is not supported.Only Vodafone devices can acces to this site. And I have Voda sims from Italy,Greece,Hungary,Irl and UK of course.

FWIW, I have an ex-O2 Nokia 6230 on Vodfone PAYG and I can connect to Vodafone Live.

As far as I am aware Vodafone have profiles for each handset that will work with Vodafone Live. Without the profile you will get either a basic text view or an incompatible message. Thats why brand new phones that come out sometimes take a few weeks until they work in Live. Thats how I understand it anyway. Anyone else know more??
Is live now working on your handset?

I get exactly the same with my N82 o2 branded but unlocked, and using it on the T-mo network, I cant watch mobile TV or download things from the web n walk T-mo site, it comes up "your phone is not supported, which is a real bummer cos I watched a lot of the mobile tv, before I had an o2 SE K800 and that worked fine on T-mo and I could watch TV on it too, must be a nokia thing, annoying tho, cos mobile tv would look and sound great on the N82 wonder if there is way round it

If a handset is not on the Vodafone accept list then it won't access Live. That's why a sim free D600 or 6300 can access Live no problem, because they are Vodafone authorised handsets. As the N82 isn't, it isn't authorised to access Live. I can see the reasons why Vodafone do this, but the restrictions need to be relaxed a bit. It is very frustrating.
