Hi, I am on the verge of buying a nokia n82 and was just wondering if anybody would be able to answer me 2 questions.........

1 - Is it really worth paying £300 + on the sim free version? (i still have a good 8 months left on contract so upgrading isnt an option at this time)

2 - I curently have a samsung D900 and of coruse that phone DOES NOT have 3G and i have never had a phone with 3G on it before. So my question is, will i just be able to put my sim card into the new N82 and it will just work with 3G and all, Or will i have to get some sort of settings or sim update in order to use the N82 with 3G?

Many thanks to anybody who can help.

If you can afford it then go sim free.. This year should see some decent phones comming out, perhaps even a 2nd gen Iphone... so you can upgrade to a later date.

your network operator should be able to send the settings to your phone... to be honest I dropped my O2 sim in to a unbranded sim free phone and had no problems...

Hi Dave316,
I did pay for my n82 450GBP and believe me is worth it! And for 3G services you need a 3G sim card. But 2G sim will work as well(you won't be able make video calls or use HSDPA).

Where on eart did you pay that massively inflated price? I paid £350 as soon as it came out... you were robbed...
