I just rang O2 to ask when I can upgrade/leave (not until May sadly)

I also askedif O2 plans to launch the N95 8GB to be told yes - by the end of Jan. I made absolutely clear that this was the true N95 8GB and she confirmed that she both knew what I meant and that this was the one scheduled for launch.

I also said that O2 Data Tariffs were a joke and asked if they were planning to sort this out. And was told that tariffs will change from late Jan/Feb and data provision will feature more heavily. Hopefully this means I won't have to change to 3 after all :D (but based on the past revamp I still somewhat expect to be disappointed!)

Then I asked about HSDPA rollout and she had never heard of it (lol), but 2 out of 3 isn't bad!

not sure whether more data will make any difference to be honest. although i was one of the first ones to complain about the 200mb cap i have found that i go no where near the limit, mainly due to the slow 3g data speeds of o2. Id rather they sort out the speed issues first.

Thats why I tried to ask about HSDPA. Can't even get 3G in either of the 2 areas where I live although next year I should hopefully be living in Bristol or Sheffield and be able to take advantage. I have to say that I am really disappointed with O2 for not embracing new tech - even plain 3G fully - they paid for the license and aren't even providing it outside major towns. I don't live far out of Bristol, and spend the rest of my time in Loughborough and neither have any O2 3G coverage. Yet there is a 3 mast just outside my Hall - I'm sure they could rent from them if they wanted! But instead O2 squanders their money upgrading to 2.5G/EDGE just so they can get the iPhone - despite slagging that tech off a few years ago!

You can see the HSDPA coverage at http://www.webmap.o2.co.uk/.

Tariffs with bundled data would be good if they worked out cheaper than buying the £7.50 add-on.

I know you can see current coverage there but I wondered if there were plans for a further rollout
