Hey
I have the same issue on the N95 8GB which i recieved this morning, as most people did on their normal N95s. The slider, when open to show numerical keypad, clicks, just on the bottom right and thats it but it makes the little click nose which is petty annoying. Is this normal or shall i get the phone replaced?
Thanks
Edit:
After comparing my phone to several different N95 8GB, i found out that it was a problem. Just spoke to the customer services people, there was this really helpful guy who arranged a new phone to be dilevered this monday and they'll take back my old phone with them. Lets hope the new phone does not have the same problem or i'll have to follow one of those dodgy solutions on Youtube. LOL. Currently packing my N95 8GB.

I bought my phone on contract with Three UK, and i reported the problem, i suppose you can e-mail the seller on ebay about this and if they dont refund, you could file a complaint against them.

Surely this is a little extreme and being harshly unfair to the origonal seller?
Then again, I don't have this problem with mine, so don't know how bad it affects the phone.
Isnt there any way of finding out if its still under warranty and contacting nokia about it?

Yeah..well.. i think if you can get the reciept of the orignal seller, every nokia phone is under a 2 year manufacturer warranty, you can then talk to nokia. There are a few fixes for this problem some of which are posted on youtube if u wanna have a look at em.
I wouldn't bother; it's not worth the hassle. I have had quite a few of the N95-1 and on my second N95 8gig. Mine has the exact same problem now, I was going to change it but they all seem the same if not worse so it is a bit of a gamble.
I have however fixed mine so it is rock solid, ok a tiny bit of play when shut but hardly anything. The fix I did was without opening the phone and you really have to look to see it.
Slide the slider down so in media player mode
Turn the phone over and face down, so the right side is now on the left
Just put a small strip of sellotape above the screw and as close to the phone as possible, making sure it covers the higher ridge bit too
That’s it!
I did have thicker tape but it was too thick and you could feel it when you slid the phone open. I have had mine like this for a few months now and am happy; Nokia just can't seem to produce a decent slider phone that I have seen anyway.

Can we have a pic of your fix, that would be great...
Cheers

Sorry, just seen this. I will have a go at taking a photo and post shortly.
Had a bit of a nightmare adding text so hope the arrows are good enough!
The top arrow just points to the top of the tape, try and get it as close as possible to the mail body of the phone. Most important is to cover the top of that ridge, but don't go down the left side as it may get caught in the slider.
Second arrow just shows to get it as close as possible to the screw.
Took me a few attempts to get it right, but as I said sellotape is best, I found insulation tape too thick.
