Hi All,

Just read this post

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=720882

its mentioning something about new data plans in Feb for Orange? has anyone else (maybe from Orange) heard about this?

I'm actually considering leaving the pretty shameful Orange network at the moment (with them for around 10 yrs or so), and bouncing across to T-mobile like so many others! Mainly because the T-Mobile network seems to be more stable and the packages better! (I don't think they'll be able to beat Orange CS though), I'm just getting tired of dropped signal and high phone bills when I may have a better choice with T-Mobile

(BTW: I have an Orange Nokia which constantly plays like a yoyo for signal strength and a T-Mobile Blackberry for work, which hardly ever has problems & is just solid, so can test somewhat side-by-side (though granted the phones are different))

Having said this, this may be an alternative if it seems like Orange might be actually listening to their customers - a decent data plan on Orange? Scary eh :) Now they just need to sort out their network!

Any Thoughts/Rumours?

The only thought I have is that the orange billing system needs an upgrade to offer new tarriffs.

The only reason I believe the tarrifs are so expensive for data anyway is that their system is not capable of billing a customer say £8 for 1024 megabytes.

I should hope so but there is NO WAY I am staying with Orange longer than I have to.

I have the old £8.00 unlimited bundle. Oranges billing system does not have any problems with that.

I wouldnt hold your breath, Orange made similar noises about an unlimited package in early summer last year, which turned out to be 30Mb!
This "unlimited" promise was the reason I switched from O2 to go with them with the assumption it would happen shortly. At the time O2 had nothing and there weren't even rumours of a data package, and T-Mob / Voda were no go-ers as the signal is rubbish in my area and I was desperate for an N95 so didnt want to wait to ensure it happened.

Orange is just like a high street bank - they charge you shed loads for something that costs them very little (such as data) and know the vast majority of customers will merely pay over the odds and do nothing about it....

It was a promotinal bundle that contained unlimited data, though in fact its capped at 1gb, i've used everything with it including streaming and not been charged, plus like bill i have the off peak unlimited as well.

@the other poster no its not a manual adjustment its on the system and i obtained mine a year ago through normal customer service with a little prompting along the way, it even shows in my bundles through my online account.

Next month is when i will be biting my nails, its only an 18 month offer and mine is due to finish next month, i have asked for the expiry date to be removed and have been assured it has been and will not finish but hey we all heard that one before.

Yes its capped at 1GB but if its like mine it does not change it always says I have 1000MB left no matter how much I use or what I use it for.
Best way to find out if the expiry date has been removed is go to your account in the Orange World section on your phone. It should tell you what bundles you have and when/if they have a expiry date. Thats how I found out mine was going to expire. They should just be able to change the expiry date to 31/12/99999999999999999. Thats what they did with mine.

Yes bill mine never changes either its always 1gb available and used 0, but mine was set up way back when they still had to give you 500 texts on the unlimeted deal then make them foc after the 500 lol.

I only found out about the expiry cause you mentioned it, i cant see the date as its on a business account and business accounts don't have access to my account on the orange world site but i have phoned and spoken to 3 reps now and they all confirmed my unlimeted bundle and my 60 min foc video bundle both have no expiry date and yeah the video bundle came from one of your posts to thanks bud.

I wonder if we are the only two people left with these bundles ?
Just a quick update contacted C/S a few days ago to try and find what the FUA is for the data add on. I was passed to a few C/S agents who all confirmed that there was no FU amount on it.

Now for starters this shows you just how great Oranges C/S is. A few weeks ago I contacted Orange Premier C/S and asked them if they knew anything about Oranges new data plans. The person I spoke did not but said that if they found anything out they would let me know. Well I had a text out of the blue from Orange C/S this morning telling me that Orange had new data plans and they would be launched soon.
