I bought a new casing for my N73 thinking it would be easy to change. I looked on the net and got instructions and realised it was a lot harder than I hoped but I gave it a go. All went well and i swapped stuff "like for like" from the old casing to the new. When i put it back together and turned on the LCD didn't light up. I took it apart again and reseated the lcd plug, put back together and still NOK. I have now looked at the LCD and see I have broken this, even though I thought was very careful, obviously not careful enough. Then What with all the taking off of the casing to check a switch fell off (one to bring the photo gallery up)....i now want to cry!!!!!!!
So now my phone turns on, it does the Nokia welcome tune, when I press buttons it bleeps. But when I phone the number it doesn't ring.
My question is this have i busted more than the LCD as I don't want to buy and LCD to find out I have broken loads of other stuff in my Kack handed attempt at being a phone technician. Is there a way I can test the phone without the LCD to check it is worth attempting to fix!!! Please Help any suggestions wellcome thanks!

No I tried to change the casing and was too heavy handed. Anyway I have now changed the LCD, resoldered a switch, and reseated the mic and it works...horrah! I will never attempt a case change again! Thanks for replying.
