Hi all...

I'm on T mobile with a flex/web&walk contract and have just debranded and installed the V20 firmware. I've noticed a couple of differences that i just want to check are common to all T mobile users. (1) The top right hand key(above the red key) used to be a quick link to web&walk and it said web&walk on the screen above that, now its quick link to music player, is this standard to the V20 upgrade. I now have an icon across the top of the screen that just says web and not web&walk. I guess I'm a little worried that because it doesnt say web&walk that I'm not actually using web&walk but some other way of browesing and incuring costs for doing so. Any other T mobile users come across this. (2) Across the top of the screen I used to have an icon for the gallery and calender but they've been replaced with icons for clock and profiles, is this how they should be and if so can they be changed back, and how.

Thanks in advance.

when you debrand you lose all the t-mobile`s own additions to the firmware and tweaks, i have also done the same with mine, makes no difference at all, you can re customize all the keys again, but you cant change the icons back to what they were..

Don’t worry, debranding your phone does not mean you are not connecting to Web n Walk by T-Mobile any more.
All that has happened is some of the Nokia icons and shortcuts that T-Mobile “branded” have now been set back to how Nokia wanted them.
The new web icon that you see does the same job as the Web n Walk one from T-Mobile, it connects you to the web using whatever connection method you select be it WLAN or your T-Mobile connection.

All of the six icons at the top of the screen can be customised to your own liking as can the two shortcuts at the bottom. This has always been the case, even on branded phones. The N95 manual explains all about personalising these options.

To get the shortcuts you want do the following:

Press Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> General -> Personalisation -> Standby mode
Now on this screen the two that you are interested in are Shortcuts (the two at the bottom) and Active standby apps (the six icons at the top) As you will see when you select these options you can change all of these to whatever suits you best.

Hope this helps.

Well mine is back to standard as it were, but still has web and walk where it should be. Incidentally, I find Opera Mini far faster and easier to use than the Nokia software for browsing :)
