Hi,
I just bought a new K800i on Orange PAYG to replace my old phone (which was also on Orange PAYG). I thought that retaining my old number would be as simple as just putting in the old SIM. However, if the old phone was 2G, would I be correct in thinking that 3G services will not work if I use this SIM in the K800i?
If so, is there a way to either put my old number on the new SIM card or upgrade the old SIM card to 3G? I'd rather not go through the hassle of having to give everyone my new number.
Thanks in advance.

Ring them up from your old PAYG and tell them you have bought a new 3G handset and want to upgrade.
They will take the number of the new SIM (the one printed on the SIM) and arrange for your old number to be transferred

Just phoned them up and explained the situation. They were very helpful and it seems to be working fine now :). Thanks for your help.
One odd thing is that the K800i only seems to intermittently select a 3G network. I start it up and it is in GSM mode, but if I go to Mobile Networks and make it connect to Orange 3G, it works fine for a few minutes but then reverts to GSM afterwards.
Edit: OK, it's improved now. The 3G connection still seems quite intermittent, but I'll chalk that down to low signal quality. I'm going back to London in a few days so hopefully it'll be better there.

My brother had a Orange PAYG Nokia 6320. He then bought a sim free 6680 from local market 2 years later. . I phoned Orange ( english customers services not indian call center!) nd told then that my brother wants to use 3g services on his 3g Handset the current sim is 2g. They said you can order a 3g sim from us which will cost £1 . When you recieve it phone regestrations and tell them you want to to a sim transfer carry all my details to the new 3g sim.
The Sim should arrive by wed/thu. will i be succesfull?
