My mate lives in Sri Lanka and is on SKYPE. Now I can sort this out via my PC but would like to use my phone if possible.

I have a debranded T-Mobile N95 with V20 firmware. I also have the web and walk plus package which means unlimited data (fair use rubbish applies).

So, what do I do?

Software?
Subscription costs?

etc

Cheers for any help or links,

Catch.

Fring from fring.com is what you might be after, unless web n walk has this blocked?

Ok, got fring installed and everything works with my skype contacts via wifi. Now, I'm with T-Mobile web and walk plus and when I try and use this as my connection it crashes. In fact it crashes to the point where it needs uninstalling from the phone.

Any ideas?

I tried it on WM and N95 and they also worked for a short while then crashed. I am unsure if the phone issue or software issue as I use Wi-fi connection. I am interested in the experience of anyone who has successful use of Skype on smartphone.

Since you have web & walk, you should use Iskoot, its sort of the best skype app out there i guess, i use it for Wlan cause dont have internet active on my three contract at d moment.

The basic W&W from T-Mobile has blocked the ports that Fring/Truphone etc use.
