NSS change to product code :
0528599 - Euro_C_Latin_UK_Grey ( reports as 6280 after change )
NSS will not read/rewrite unless you disable the 6288 USB modem in control panel ---->modems---->6288--------->properties---->disable
change product code with NSS
close NSS
enable USB modem in device manager
NSU to update ( if NSU still dont work re-check modem enabled & reboot )
VIOLA ! say goodbye to 3's crappy UTMS only firmware, say hello to GSM/UTMS/DUAL options along with other options - PTT, nokia I messaging etc... still some 3 branding left but its minimal and all the hidden menus are back :) browser is much faster & 3's msn messenger installed no problem, so seems all your 3 certs are there !! done two 6288's so far :D
update: i had to do automatic for network, but changed to GSM only - still on Orange an hour later :D
I chose network as " automatic " as manual search gave me no Orange 2G ?? only 3 - 3G, Voda - 2G & T-mobile - 2G & I can get 3G signal on all networks on my N95 where I am ? Dunno whats going on with 6288 but at least you can all force to Orange one way now ;)
NOTE : do not copy/paste codes into NSS as sometimes causes problems - input them manually to do the re-write
update : manual search does work - locked to Orange manually now, just takes time to show up after several reboots spaced over an hour :D
