View Full Version : Tmobile GPRS and 3G data and problems with Tomtom traffic services

Can anyone help with this?
I have been using T Mobile for grabbing traffic updates for my TomTom sat Nav. Six weeks ago I had to send my Nokia 6280 in for repair. It came back with a new software build on it. My Traffic updates then refused to work despite being configured correctly. I was sent the new data settings by text which I saved but this too did not work. In the end the only way I could get them to work was to power down the 6280 and remove the battery. Put the battery back in and reboot the phone. As it was so close to upgrade time I persevered as Tmobile tried to help but failed to resolve. Any way got a new N95 on TMobile but have got the same fault.aagh! The infurating thing is sometimes it works for a couple of grabs then trips up. Other times when you start the journey it fails to update then as I'm travelling down the motorway Tomtom suddenly pings to tell me it has just updated. As per Tomtom just blame the network. The network bless them have tried their very best but say there are no restrictions on my data service as it is a weband walk pro package. Tomtom say Tmobile operate a walled garden data service. Tmobile say they dont. Can anyone help?

I have a TomTom One Europe on the T-mobile web & walk pro network and have exactly the same problem when using a Nokia E61 phone. If I use another phone on the O2 network it works fine. T-mobile have tried resetting my account and also TomTom, but still the same fault

Strange thing this but since posting this my TT one services have started to work normaly. I have not changed any settings on my phone but now all seems well. rather strange I think!

I have a Nokia N73 and have tomtom 6 installed on it. Some times it can not get the traffic but can get the Weather reports :-(

I set it to auto get the data every 2 mins (have unlimited gprs in my package) and occasionally it can not update its self.

When I switched my tomtom traffic account form one phone to another the reset worked straight away, perhaps there was a delay?

Hi - first post so apologies if I have gone about this the wrong way. I know I should read all the blurb about the forums but I was hoping some kind soul would be able to possibly help me with a problem I have with my T-Mobile Vario 3 (on web n walk) and a TomTom520 I purchased yesterday. I'm trying to use the Traffic Plus service but cannot get the TT to recognise the GPRS config of the phone (I can establish a bluetooth connection ok). I have looked on both the T-Mobile & TT web sites and have tried manually entering the GPRS settings but the TT still cannot connect.
Has anyone had similar problems or know where I could start to look for a solution? I have Email, Internet & Bluetooth all working on the phone for other uses.

Now sorted!!

I waited until the 65% failure on my TomTom One, to get the option to enter settings manually.

Then I overwrote the automatic settings with: at+cgdcont=1,"ip","Access point name","",0,0

It has now worked without failure for two weeks.:)
