Depending on what network you are on, this could be a cheap or very expensive thing to do.

Using Nokia PC Suite, connect your n95 via cable / bluetooth and select "connect to the internet"

Can you use the N95 as a modem on 3 X-Series?

Watch out as some contracts say you cant use it as a modem on your pc. I don't know how they would find out but people in the US with iphones have been caught out with this.

However i'm on a tmobile data tarriff and in the contract says not to use it as a modem but i have never been charged.

You can use it on any contract, but depending on your tarriff you will be charged accordingly.

Edit - Looking at the x-series website its similaer to the tmobile data package where data is unlimited. As i said it might not apply to modem usage, ring them up to be sure.

Ye i am a little worried!!

I just checked the terms and condition on orange... can orange tell if you are using your mobile as a modem as the fuctions are the same to connect to the net or will it just show up as mobile internet??? has anyone else done this with orange???? i'm not downloading loads, just checking my emails, facebook, sports, etc...

Thanks,
fab

2. The Offer provides [1000 MB] data browsing for £5 per month. Any usage beyond this limit during the month will be charged at your standard service plan rates. The offer is not to be used for other activities such as modem access for computers, non-Orange internet based streaming services, voice or video over the internet, instant messaging, peer to peer file sharing, non-Orange internet based video. Should you exceed this limit or if such use is detected, notice may be given and Network protection controls may be applied to all services which Orange does not believe constitutes mobile browsing. This may result in, at Orange’s discretion, your inability to purchase the Offer, a reduced speed of transmission, suspension of data browsing services and/or suspension of your account.

can orange tell if you are using your mobile as a modem

They could if they inspect the traffic closely.

For instance, your web browser (usually) sends information to a website to identify the browser version.

If you are just doing the occasional browsing through your pc then i doubt that they will take much notice. If you started downloading heavily them they might take more notice.
