Had a similar problem, Recently discharged the battery on a 5mnth n95.
Allowed the phone to shut itself down & then charged it without switching it back on. Once charged, I turned it on but all it does is display nokia & then the screen light goes out & thats it!

Hey guys, I recently had a similar problem when I installed the new version of Google Maps, the phone crashed during the installation, and when I tried to turn it on, it just flashed up nokia, then the screen went black, and it restarted, displayed Nokia again, went black etc ad infinitum.
I eventually had to go to the T-Mobile store (I wasn't at home), and ask to use their Internet connection to get the reset code (they had no idea what I was talking about). To do a complete factory reset (you will lose *everything* - all apps, phone contacts, settings, messages etc), you need to start with the phone off, press and hold green, 3 and * whilst turning it on. Good luck doing this, you may need a third hand (obviously designed to stop ppl accidentally resetting...)

This is good advice!
Should cure the problem.
I had a similar occurance on 01.01.08. Kept reseting. The hard reset did the trick.
