With most handsets, and therefore presumably with the datacards as well, once the drivers are installed and the device is connected, a normal modem device appears on your computer.

If so, you can use the normal dialup connection wizard to set up your connection, like you would for a dial-up ISP.

The number you dial is #98* but you don't need to give it a password or username.

You do need to add a modem configuration string however, to set it up for use with three, to do that go to...

Control Panel->Phone & Modem Options->Modem

Select your modem in the list, then go to

Properties->Advanced->Extra settings->initialization commands

Then add

at+cgatt=0 ; +cgdcont=1,"IP","three.co.uk"

[this assumes you're using XP, but it shouldn't be impossible on another OS to find the place you put the modem init string -- this is the string that is used both for my Nokia and my LG phone, so I presume it's the same for all]

Let me know if it works? If so, perhaps these details ought to be put somewhere more visible on the forums, in case other people are wanting to manually configure their data-card or usb-modem or handset using generic drivers rather than those from 3.

Byeeeee.

Thanks everyone for for replies..

Nope it didnot work out that way. I simply created the connection manually without any specific settings and hit the dial, another thing is that my DATSACARD HSDPA which ofcourse manufactured product of 3G did not recognized the SIM card, hmm what could be a reason for that ? anyone have any idea ?
