Hi,

I've been abroad (Europe) a bit in the past year (czech republic, germany, latvia, spain), and whilst calling and texting has been fine, I can't use the internet / data at all.

Actually, I tell a small lie, momentary in Germany, when I was not on a 3G network, I got connectivity (if I manually switched back to that network, I could use the internet).

I'm only after using it to check sites like the bbc news/sport, nothing high tech or complex. I've got roaming enabled (as I said, I have no problems with calls or texts) - I just want to be able to read news on my phone when I'm away.

My Girlfriend has an orange PAYG phone, which sometimes picks up the same network as me and has no problems accessing the internet?

It usually tells me "access point can not be found" or something like that.
Am I doing something wrong?

Many thanks.

I have the same problem, and would very much like to know how to get data access whilst abroad. I am on PAYG (Flat 12), and 3's standard roaming alert message states that data roaming charges are £3/MB, but I can't get any internet access other than on 3's other 3G networks (e.g.: 3ITA).

Sorry - just a little bump - wonder if anyone has any ideas?

3 UK do not have that many international roaming agreements for data usage yet so you are best to check the link below and find which (if any) roaming partners provide data access for individual countries.

Right - so it is not my account and/or phone settings - it is the fact that 3 can't do it !! Crazy !!

I've always been in 2 minds weather I enjoy being on 3 (cheap cost+good phone vs customer service and loads of other niggles) - I've still got a year left of my 18month contract, but unless they fix that one, they will be loosing a customer!

Thank you for the information - I will keep an eye on that page !
