Sort it out Three!

I am happy with the network, no problems at all, my n73 is annoying me now as there has only being 1 update since I had it around a year ago, I was playing with my friends n73 on the orange network last night and it seems much faster, the camera has a great Shot Time, as mine takes like a second or two, to process!


Upgrades due soon tho, hopefully, they will offer me cheaper line rental for my tariff and a new phone??

i haven't used another n73, but it is quite sad, they haven't released an update. I've read, is it possible to change the product code and thus load on the generic nokia firmware?

I have found it crashes regularly and always says that it has a memory shortage, and I need to close some programs.

I have not used it on any other network and have not seen one on any other network.

I can upgrade soon so fingers crossed I can get something without this problem

I had the N73 and it was terrible. I had all the same problems as davis above me, and I found the firmware update actually made it worse.

I'm currently using a Sony Ericsson W850i, which while not technically as good as the N73 is a lot more reliable.

I had a N73, it was fine enough, the processor is 100mhz or so slower than the N95 which i currently use, but the N73 was a wonderful phone, i do say nokia should release a new firmware update, not sure if they just abdoned it already, they should do something similar to what they did with the new N95 firmware.

I found the three firmware was pretty good, while i used it. Do you have the latest firmware on three?
I cant recall but i think three updated only once while i had the phone.

Yeah,I have only ever had the one update, its the latest one too...

My upgrades due in feb, i hope they can do me a good deal and cheapen my tariff

Sorry to bring up an old thread but this was my experience too of the N73. While a fantastic phone, it was let down by the fact that 3 essentially refused to support it by upgrading the firmware. I think at the last count Nokia has released about six updates after the latest one from 3.

I just finished my contract with the N73 last month and replaced it with an N95 8gb. I notice that it's one revision behind the current firmware Nokia has recently released. I'm fairly confident that 3 won't bother to support this phone either. Sadly.

Three's refusal to upgrade the firmware led me to change the product code and flash with generic firmware. Unfortuntely it bricked my N73! :(

I done the same with the N82. Understandly risky and nervous due to previous failed attempt but it worked a treat.

Of what ive read in random places im not sure its worth updating n95 8gb to v.30. Something about backing up and restoring settings clashing with the new firmware. Although that was supposed to be the issue when updating to the current version on 3
