hello,

i was reading this article and wondering is it possible to cancel the contract?

As it's a detrimental change, then possibly.

Very unlikely as 'three' would consult their Legal Team before they implemented any changes and I doubt 'Three' would leave themselves open to a breach of contract claim enabling customers to cancel existing contracts.
Try by all means as i do not know for sure but IMO its unlikely.....

Good point. 3 have been caught out in this way before. That would have cost them a lot of subscribers and money so I doubt they'd let it happen again.

any change to your terms and conditions which result in you having to pay more, are a breach of contract.

see what happened with O2 when they removed 08xx numbers from their inclusive allowances.

I just tried to call to cancel for this reason -- was told that they would suspend the increase in minimum call charges for me until the expiration of the minimum term of the contract... thereby removing the detrimental change for me and thus also removing my ability to cancel the contract early.
