i love my N73, ive had it for about 9 months now and not had any problems with it at all. none of the cursor dropping off or anything, its been a gem for me. so, recently i've had to press harder and harder to either zoom in on camera mode or turn the volume up. it was slightly annoying but i lived with it up until 2 days ago when the 'volume up' button wouldnt work at all.

its a bit of a ****ter but i thought i'd been sneaky and got round the problem by being clever, by using the headphones to turn up the volume, i mean, sure it an inconvinience, but i could have lived with it, apart from the fact i still cant zoom in.

now, im on an 18 month contract with orange, and it should be under warranty (i changed the software to music edition when i first got it, but now i have reverted back to the standard orange firmware) but i have no clue how to go about getting my phone repaired as i've never had to do it before.

so who do i phone? is it worth saying that the button is broken or shall i say i dropped it in my pint (its covered by accidental damage)?

in other news, im glad nokia finally got round to making the standard music player like the music edition. that was the only reason i changed it in the first place.

so, do you guys have any suggestions? is the zoom/volume button a regular problem for N73 users on here?

thanks for reading, hope you can help :)

Hi mate, don't know if you've got the Orange care but my screen cracked recently so i dialed 150...options etc & got to the right dept. They sent a courier out the next day. Told to remove sim, battery memory & back. Next day courier arrived and swapped the phone:o

Used my old N70 whilst waiting though:rolleyes:

yeah, thanks for your reply, i rang them today trying to blag a free upgrade to a black 8gig N95 (which didnt work, booo) though the bloke put me through to a very nice woman who said that she could replace it for me.

bizzarely, we got chatting and i told her im a trainee teacher and that, in answer to her question, i didnt throw it at the wall in a rage (haha, the cheek of it) and she wavered the administration charge for me. thats 15 quid better off in my pocket! result.

to be honest, ive heard people bitch and complain about oranges customer service, but ive never had a problem (this is my first encounter with them though), so all is happy in the Deckard camp :)

and how good is the next day speedy pick up/drop off thing? i am rather impressed.

thanks for replying

Cheers mate.......i also got the £15 waived but didn't like to state it in case others didn't get it & felt agrieved. I didn't ask, they just offered it, so like you say it's very nice of them.

I'm sure we met a while since on the how to debrand a N70........seem to keep choosing the same phones:laugh:
