Anyone managed to squeeze a n95 8Gb (BL-6F) battery into a N95 classic?
I'm tempted to buy one from eBay and have a go at shoe-horning it in. Apparently the N95 8Gb gets 2+ days battery life. My n95 classic gets a day.
Wet and dry paper and crossed fingers should do it...
Anyone?

Leave the battery cover off and put the N95 in a see through (transparent) plastic cover.
That will do the trick...

The battery fits but the cover won't go back on. The N96 8GB cover has locating lugs in different places. You might be able to shave off the stiifening ribs on the back of the N95 cover to make it fit.

Here is my idea and I'm going to do it myself this week.
1) Battery bl-6f
I'm going to remove the plastic packaging and fefit the battery with thinner insulation. Not sure what yet.
2) N95-1 Battery cover
This will be made thinner by removing material from the inside to allow it to fit.
I will post pics if it works!! If it doesn't then will have no knowledge of ever mentioning this rediculous idea!!!

Check this thread and also the comments on youtube. I've actually tried it. I almost managed to make a perfect fit but sadly my n95-1 was sold before I could do anymore serious sanding down.

Bought two BL6F 1200ma batteries on Ebay to try this, and eureka they can be
modified to fit perfectly. The battery adhesive cover has to be carefully removed, the battery can then be dissasembled from its frame. The frame is the oversize problem. Battery itself is only slightly thicker. Sand down the frame both sides, refit battery and adhesive label and thats it. I also had to sand the ribs off the battery cover for a perfect flush fit. During all this I damaged two of the clips so have ordered a new cover. It all works, just got to see what the difference in battery life is now.

Sorry for pic quality, its late..!
Keep in mind the two lugs next to the camera lens are broken, so not as tight a fit as they will be with new cover.

A few more pics....with sanded cover, you can see broken lugs.
