Hi Sliders, Just had a play in the 3 shop whilst still waiting for the LG Viewty to come in (sigh). 6500 Slide is a really nice phone and could tempt me.
Anyone confirm that this phone has HSPDA? The guy in the shop says it is and has really fast net connection.
Also, anyone stuck an 8GB card in and had any problems? It should support 8GB but you can't tell until the card fills up to 6+GB.
Anyone else got much to say about Nokia's best current phone to help me decide? Cheers.

well bro HSPDA yes i connect using orange and its great
but let me tell you one thing
I just got a viewty upgrade 3 weeks ago and for the first two weeks i thought it was the nuts but........then it started to show its true colours once i started to get to know my way around the phone Problems where
slow responsive touchscreen
did not touch scroll in all modes
the key pad locks after 5 secs when a call connects
the un lock button on the side of the phone is too small
and to top it all my mate got an i-phone on o2 now i fink 02 i phone contract is **** so i never reall y looked at an i phone till now STILL think its an overrated music player but thats my opion but once i used it
i found out how **** my lg viewty was
compaired to the i-phone it felt like i owned a skoda ...cheap and nasty features
so went out and bought the 6500 slide and yesssssssss its smoother than the viewty
o and a case for a viewty is a must cos they look **** when tey get a scratch and guess wat lg still have not released a dat for the leather lg pouch
so think hard mate:D

Hey Miles, Couldn't agree more about the Viewty. I had one for a week and agree with ALL your comments. I sent it back, double quick. Iphone beater, it definitely ain't! Also, you can only store 100 calendar entries so no good as a PDA. Crap camera too.
6500 Slide is fantastic, probably why there are no disgruntled owners on this forum. Nokia's best phone ever - I had an N80 before - 6500 easy to use, no wasted functions. 8gb card works fine so far. Can't find anything wrong except the very occasional key pad lock up. Smiles all around here!

err, only just found this thread, see right, i got a little problem with my 6500 slide, its cool and all and i've already made a thread elsewhere and posted but mite have been at wrong section, but anyway, here's my problem, copied and pasted,
rite, got nokia 6500 slide phone recently, its great and all but one small problem, when i set my text tone on like say general mode, (infact its on a custom mode at the moment) but anyway, and when i receive a text, I get the sound i put as a text tone come on but also the standard tone comes up after the sound i have put up, if that makes sense! so for example when i get a text, catchphrase.mp3 is played, then the standard nokia text tone is played AFTER the catchphrase.mp3 has played.
Any way to stop that?
thanks

Does your 6500 slide top part(where the lcd is) wobbles a bit when opened? Can this be fixed? Thanks!

No noticable wobbles at all on mine. Would suggest taking apart and putting back together though at that usually worked with my previous slider phones. Sometimes dirt gets into the slide mechanism.
Still no issues with this phone or 3 network! Unbelievable, I know.

Good for you. Mine wobbles a bit when slided up. It's still under warranty. Do you think Nokia can fix this wobble if I bring it for service? The wobble is a bit annoying...

Hi all...
Just got my 6500 slide, very nice...I love it
Just one question at the mo...Anybody know if you can get windows live for the 6500 slide. I use hotmail for all my email requierments. Previously had the N95 with windows live installed and could use hotmail no problems.
Cheers
