Hello,

I recently upgraded my contract with 3 network. I specifically asked for a 12month contract.

Anyway they gave me £14pm direct talker 1000. Anyway I received the phone and called up when it was faulty. The sales lady told me it was 18 month contract and another lady said it was 12month contract.

Anyway I recieved a generic letter from c/services stated my mobile number, emei number and contract details. Clearly states 12months.

So I phone up today and guess what "Sorry sir, but it is a mistake. On my screen the notes say 18month".

I say "but I have a contract infront of me saying 12months"
They say "No....tear it up, its 18months"

Now.......what do I do now? ? Sit on it for 11months and then kick off?

Ask to speak to a supervisor, and if that doesn't sort it, escalate it to the executive office.

They've confirmed in writing a 12 month contract. Mistake or not, they have to honour it.

That's the truth, dont have their nonsense. 12 Months are always better than 18, but ultimately we should have the freedom & not need to go into contracts to get the same services, i mean special offers should be there to reduce costs for those loyal but most are forced into having contracts.

Take charge dont let the networks tell you what you need. I'm with three direct talker 1000 i think, not too sure but anyway i get what i need, told three i was leaving in august & they called to offer a offer too good to be true, actually got different offers on 2 different numbers, they pretty much pay for themselves so thanks to three its stressfree till summer 2008. If my 2 years with them aint worth much next summer then i'll port my number & find the cheapest deal next time.

Its funny how customer services get it wrong these days, its so annoying, sometimes i end the call & call back to speak to someone who understanding my issues. Ah well!

It has got to be 12 months for me too. A year and a half is a long time - even if its because you phone has to last 50% longer without falling apart! It is funny, when I first spoke to them they wanted £70 for the handset on a 12 month contract but the 18 month contract had the phone cost at £100! As it happened, it ended up being free on a 12 month contract!!
