ive been using v12 since it came out and have had now problems with it. now ive upgraded to v20 on saturday and since then my phone has crashed twice for 2 different reasons. The first i plugged my headphones into it and it just crashed and the second time i unplugged my usb cable which caused to crash again. Is it the new firmware that isbuggy or am i just being unlucky and its just been a coincendence it crashed after the firmware upgrade.

Did you restore Settings after the ugrade? If so, try a full phone format (*#7370#) and put your settings back in manually and see if you still have the problem. You can restore everything else except settings.

V20 seems to be a lot better and far more stable - IMO this is what the fw should have been when the phone was released.:)
No reboots, faster camera etc etc.
The most important thing about the new FW is that my battery life has improved quite markedly - this was my biggest problem with this phone. I am not sure how a FW update can have improved battery life but it has. I would recommend this update to anyone with an N95. V12 was a dog - contained so many bugs.

yeh i restored from memory card and the only choices i had were to restore phone because ive used the backup feature on the pc before and i lost all my text messages.
Go with Andykn's advice!
Do a full reset, reinstall all your apps to the phone mem and don't use back/restore at all. Use PC Suite sync instead.
If you loose your txts it's better than a phone up the shute.

How have others found the battery life after upgrading to v20? Mine has gone from being pretty good to appalling! I used to last 3 days now i'm lucky to get 1! Everything is the same as before the update, GSM only no wireless scanning etc

Got to agree, my battery yesterday, went very hot, then the phone power died quickly. Also this morning after charging overnight, it shut down and restarted......Strange things happening !

Mine is a bit better since I upgraded from v12 to v20. Maps gets a lock a lot faster too, but I miss 'tracking'.

Has anyone been able to test the phones batter if the music player in 12 hours instead of 9.
Anyone willing to play 9 hours of music on V12 firmware then do it again n see when the battery runs out?
I've found that that v20 firmware appears to work better, of course it has more ram, which it should have had when they originally released the phone, so its a lot better with this point alone.
I have however found a sort of slowdown sometimes when multi-tasking, such as music player, messenger & web browser, then sometimes if i try browsing the menu, it sort of freezes for a few seconds, not all the time, but noticed it about 3/4 times.

I'd change my product code if I where you.
V.12 was out in June, and you still haven't gotten that, which means that you will probably not see V.20 before summer 2008 !!!
V.20 is a HUGE improvement over V.11 and V.12 - for me it's like a whole new phone. This is what the N95 is supposed to be like, if you ask me.

I've changed the only thing that i had set differently between v12 and v20 and it seems to have made the world of difference to my battery, this is after trying two batteries and two different chargers. What i changed was the clock back to digital from analogue! WTF is that about. The phone does seem more stable after the upgrade and GPS etc is better but wifi seems to drain the battery quicker and i dont think the phone is really that much quicker on general use.

I upgraded to v20, then dropped the phone cracking the screen :( Hopefully it will get repaired quickly (yay for insurance) and I can see if V20 is as good as everyone is making it out to be.

On v20.. can you set the alarm tone so that it doesn't get louder and louder?
its sooooooooooooooo annoying cos you have to turn it off str8 away.. when you'd rather have a bit of a lay in and listen to a tune!
