Hi all...

I'm on T mobile and I've recently updated my firmware to v12 from v10. The phone is now much faster in all respects and I'm getting 3.5g when browsing which is very nice. The problem is I've got what I think is called the key press bug which is giving me problems as follows: (1)When trying to get back to the standby screen pressing the red button does nothing and you've got to press the back/exit button to go back. (2) When texting and you need to enter a number you'd usually press and hold the appropriate key until the number appeared, but this doesn't work, infact sometimes I cant get a number up at all and end up having to spell out numbers. I could have other problems also but have just not come across them as yet. Anybody had these problem and have you got a solution.

Cheers

not sure if it will affect the t-mobile warrenty, it will if they notice, but after ur done u can chage ur product code back to the tmobile 1 so they wouldnt know, what it does? well wen u plug ur n95 into the pc the nokia software updater reads the product code then loads the firmware, in ur case it will load t-mobile branded firmware, if u change the code to say euro1 then the nokia software updater wud download unbranded generic firmware so all the t-mobile stuff like themes, web icon etc will be gone, also ull find non branded fw works better, if up to it 1 day add me to msn biggzyn80@hotmail.com and ill walk u thru the proccess

tykeman, I have the same issues as you on the latest t-mobile firmware. If you're not confident about debranding then I suggest you hold out a while, t-mobile have been 'fairly' quick in the past about releasing new firmware upgrades. We might see it within the next month or 2. I'm going to hold out a few weeks, and if it doesn't appear I'm going to debrand mine.

I'm with t-mobile, if I debrand and upgrade, how would i use web'n'walk? can I get t-mobile to send the settings over the air again?

You can always find the settings somewhere. My phone pulled the Voda settings out of thin air heh

I'm with Orange and when I de-branded my phone and updated the firmware all the network settings remained. I didn't do a backup or anything, but when I went to browse tinterweb the Orange Internet, GPRS etc were all there already. I don't think it's something you need to worry about.

Hi Jast...

Thanks for the advice, think I'll do as you and wait for abit and see if the t-mobile firmware appears. If not then I'll seriously consider debranding.
