For the last 2 weeks, everytime my XDA tries to connect
to GPRS, it comes up with the Logon To Network window first.
It never used to do this....
Anyone else 'notice this' or can explain???
thanks

Are you sure its not trying to connect to a Wi-FI hotspot instead?
Does it occur in more than one location?

I dont think its anything to do with that, rather more like
some sort of O2 connection issue.
Is it possible O2 can set you onto some sort of 'low priority' connection
or pleb data channel ??

I'm pretty sure its technically possible to throttle your connection or boot you off GPRS (I support LAN/Internet apps for a living so there is probably someone better qualified than me to explain the situation as regards GSM/GPRS)
Might be worth giving CS a ring and get them to send you the settings again in a service message (I looked on the O2 site and there's a tool to resend the settings but it only lists the X1 and Ice under O2 so I don't want to leave you in a worse state if the wrong settings are applied)
I do wish operators would publish their GPRS settings to enable manual input as they could impose a network security policy to stop access to the APN if the phone's IP wasn't one of theirs or the SIM did not provide some kind of security token.
