Mobile TV on a Payg 3g phone. I signed up for the value pack 2 days ago and after the sub was taken I had 3.76 in the account.
For the last 2 days, all I've done is go onto the voda live page, down to mobile TV, onto the programme detail for my package and watched a channel.
Today I find my balance is 2.70 -why is this - will I be deducted further if I watch tomorrow? I thought that the subscription was all that I needed to pay? Is there some sort of limit on how long you can watch for?

Please advise, thanks.

Update on the PAYG charges for watching Mobile TV:

Well I've just been talking to Vodafone about the charges being made for using Mobile TV. Apparently, every time you click on the link to go from the main Vodafone live page to the Mobile TV page, you get charged!!!

I got refunded some browsing charges and a goodwill charge, but it still amounted to less than I had on my account than I started with before I subscribed to the TV.

I asked the CS to give me a link that would take me straight to the Mobile TV area without incurring any further charges, so I could set it up. There then followed a conversation advising how to setup any bookmark, but not the specific one I wanted.

I was told I would have to find the one I wanted myself and incur yet more charges in doing so.

I advised the CS that the goodwill refund did not make up the total amount I had lost and that I was not happy with this extra charge on top of the monthly subscription, I then ended the call.

I only want to watch one channel (Eurosport Live) on the Variety pack when I'm out and about, I just wish one of the other networks ran the full Eurosport Live
channel.

Hi Path6336,

I'm sorry you've had problems being charged to access mobile TV. If you access it from Vodafone Live home page or through my subscriptions, this should be free of charge.

Until you've subscribed to mobile TV you will be charged for accessing the mobile TV pages.

Hope this helps explain why you've been charged.

Thanks, but that is precisely my point, I HAD already subscribed my £3 to get the variety pack about a week ago and expected the £3 to be my only deduction, but it wasn't.

Then when I phoned the Vodafone CS, they told me that going from the Vodafone Live page and onto the Mobile TV page was the reason that I was getting these deductions and that I had to setup a direct link bookmark into the TV page I wanted to goto to stop the extra deductions.

As I had not known there would be deductions for moving between these pages, I was given some of them back, but was told that there would be no more.

As they could not give me the direct bookmark link to the TV pages (so I'd have to find it myself and incur additional charges that would not get refunded) I then asked to cancel the TV subscription.

I would subscribe to the TV Variety pack again, but only if this issue is sorted out so extra data doesn't get charged.

Thanks.

Hi path6336,

If you go to the bottom of the main page when you first connect to Vodafone Mobile Internet, you'll see an option for "My Account." Choose that, then go to the bottom of the next page and choose "Pricing Info."

On this page it details that the first page of VMI, as well as the first page you reach after choosing any of the Music+Fun, Web+Email, Information or Friends tabs is free of charge. It also states that TV Channel pages are free so long as you're subscribed to a TV pack.

You can access the TV Channel pages from the main screen (by choosing Mobile TV towards the bottom,) so I can only think the charges are for browsing another website. Have you been looking anywhere else on the internet? Or maybe sending or receiving emails?

Hope this helps,

Well, for me it just charges every time.
I've put a brand new sim in (I'm supposed to get the first month free browsing according to the home site page - but it still keeps deducting ) with £1 plus £10 top up. I'd gone to look at the TV pages and I'm down to £10.95.

Then I went onto the Home page, scrolled down to My Account and went into that page.
At the top of the page it says Free to view. I then exit the browser.

I go to check my balance and I'm down to £10.80. I've only gone between the two free pages and that is exactly what the CS said I had been charged for when I phoned up about it.

On the other sim, I had only gone between the main Home page and the TV and pricing info pages - each time I got a deduction. I don't use e-mail on the phone.

Thanks.

Hi,

Yes there does seem to be a problem here with this and there have been some charging issues for a few customers. We're looking into putting this right and it is worth registering this with us so that we can add your number to the system that we report our faults. Anything you're overcharged for would be credited back to you anyway once the fault is resolved.

You can contact our technical team on 191 to advise of this and ask that its logged to the fault. The more examples we have of this the quicker we can get it fixed.

Hope we can get this sorted for you soon.
