Second blog down.
I'm not sure we're meant to discuss this though so the thread might get closed.

Er I think you get arrested (or something) for posting it on here, but I guess there is nothing wrong with advising you to check out the http://www.n95users.com forum.

Hi.
1) Install the latest version of PC Suite
2) Locate, download and install Nemesis Service Suite.
3) Google/search this site for product codes
3) Run this and connect to your phone and change the product code
4) Run the Nokia Software Updater (linked from PC Suite) to check an update is available
5) Cancel the update before it starts
6) Backup your data (I usually make a backup to the memory card using the memory tool and then I remove the card as a secondaryprecaution)
7) Run the updater again and allow it to complete.
8) Restore the memory card backup
That's it, pretty much.

I'd forget the backup if you are going from a branded to non-branded firmware, it's asking for trouble, as many many people have discovered.
Sync your data contacts/calendar instead and reinstall any extra applications you have added.

Got it done (dead easy) now just have to see what the new firmware's like though it does seem to boot quicker
