View Full Version : N95 stopped connecting to PC Suite.
My laptop rejects the USB connection to the N95 (USB device not recognised).
Never had this before and have spent three days and two reinstalls of WINXP trying to solve the problem.
I have reinstalled everything (PC Suite, Connectivity drivers, USB port controllers, OS, etc, etc.) and can't figure this one out.
I give out a lot of assistance, now I need it!
Any ideas?

This may sound too obvious but have you tried a different USB socket?
You can also try a different USB cable.
You don't really need any drivers for the phone if you have the latest Nokia PC suite installed as drivers are included.

Tried all that!
Really bugging me!
Is it finding you on Mass Storage Mode?

Nope!
Showing as unknown device!
I think this is a WINXP issue. But, not sure what!

I had a similar problem awile back and did all the things you have done, to no avail.
It was only when I uninstalled everything and then used Nokia's PC Cleaner that I could connect after reinstalling PC Suite. Something about leaving a residue on the computer after uninstalling! I used this tool before I installed the recent N series PC Suite 2.0.

Hope it helps.

HI,
Could you give more details about your issue. PC Operating system 32 bit/64 bit, PC Suite version you are using, Can you able to connect PC via bluetooth/Infrared? If you are connected via USB, in Device manager ( PC Side) your phone is detected while connected?
Regards,
Sen.

Ok, give this a whirl - works for me - disconnect your phone, open Task Manager, click on Processes and find ServiceLayer.exe and end the task - plug your phone back in and try it - something has happened and i have to do this everytime i plug it in, i've not tried reinstalling PC Suite yet though
Good luck
Last night everything started working again so now I'm realy baffled!
I supect my USB port drivers (ie host controller) but who knows?
