Right, the story is that I have 2 phones, both on different tariffs. I use one and my dad uses the other. Yesterday my dad had a call from someone claiming to be from vodafone offering an upgrade. But they obviously had to deal with me as the account is in my name, so he told them to ring the other number on the account. (I don't know if he actually had to give out my number or not). Today I had a missed called from 02392604460. Is this actually Voda trying to flog me an upgrade or not?
While I don't recognise the number it may or may not be a voda number. I am always suspicious of cold calls offering upgrades and new contracts as there are to many fly by night companies offering deals that to me are scams.
If it was me I would call c/s and ask them if they have called you and you could see what deals they are offering.
The safest way to upgrade is via voda c/s, a voda shop or a known company with a good reputation.

The number calling you is a third party dealer, not a part of Vodafone or Phones 4 U for that matter. If you're ever concerned about a company saying they're Vodafone, ask them for a number to call them back on or just call us directly on 191 free of charge from your handset.
It's also worth noting that whenever calling Vodafone directly the greeting always contains "Vodafone," whether you get through to a menu system or to an advisor directly.
Lastly, call us on 191 to find out if you're eligible to upgrade. If you are, we'll transfer you through to our sales teams.
Hope this helps,
