View Full Version : Can't Get Skype/Fring To Work On My N95

When i try to install fring i get an error saying certificate may not yet be valid or expired :( does anyone know a way around this? also when i try to upgrade skype i get a web error, does anyone know how to fix this?
i seem to be having alot of problems with my n95 and if i don't get them sorted i'll be cancelling my contract shortly:tired:

Try this,
Goto 'Applications' then select 'Application Manager' then 'Options' then 'Settings'. In the menu you need to make sure 'software installation' is 'All' and 'Online Certificate check' is 'OFF'
Hope this helps in instaling Fring, '3' Skype application seems to have been playing up on '3' over the last day or so.

Hi,
it was already set to that, skype is now working and fring installs fine but it can't connect to the interent :(

I too have a problem getting Skype on my N95. On signing in it asks me to upgrade to the latest version of skype. When I press Upgrade it comes up with an error message saying: Web, unable to perform operation. Any idea how to get around this problem?

If you go to my 3 then internet there should be a skype logo, click on it and it will download the update

Did that and it updated the software. But now it says it does not recognise my username and password.

Zahira darling, Skype works faultlessly. Once installed make sure you do not make errors in typing ID and passwords. With fring,when it works it is fine but more often than not it has let me down.So I rate Fring as unreliable until they come up with drastic solution to stop loosing connection, stop crashes and call quality in Skype.It was working fine just a couple of months ago but they treid to fix when there was not much to fix but add more service to it!
So all in all as the saying goes "If it aint broken dont fix it!"
