Using N95 8gb As A Modem

Could anyone offer advice on using the N95 8gb as a modem. I have tried everything. Manuals, online help lines. Spoke to vodafone who advised speaking to Nokia. Spoke to Nokia who advised to uninstall and reinstall without firewall - made no difference. Laptop and phone are connected fine. I click on connect to the internet within Nokia PC suite. Connection manager goes through its routine but then dialogue box says 'failed to establish a network connection' Settings seem to be OK. Modem is visible within system device manager.
