Yes, that's right, I've been using my N95 8GB to make and receive calls!

Has anybody else had problems with poor reception?

I make many of my phone calls from my front room (currently I am recovering from an injury and have not yet needed to make calls from elsewhere!!!). Previously I had a Sony Ericcson and I had no problems with reception. I could hear the person at the other end and they could hear me - clearly. But since getting the N95 8GB, the person on the other end has been complaining of poor receptions, and several times the call has been cut off (it has happened with several people and with landlines also).

I think the phone is a fantastic piece of equipment, but it seems to be struggling with the most basic but most essential of functions. Has anybody else experienced similar? Is it likely to be a fault with the phone?

Any information will help, I am reluctant to send the phone back, but I still have 7 days in which to do so, and if I am unable to make a phone call properly then back it will have to go!

Thanks

Mine is spot on as a phone, excellent quality in calls, so it could be a problem with your handset

I would phone them up on 191 (I assume you are on Vodafone) tell them the phone is faulty and arrange a doorstop swop, if you do it now you should have a replacement tomorrow, which still leaves you a few days to test the new one out.

I found it to be perfectly adequate, actually it seems to pick up better reception than the original n95.

Thanks for this.

I have now contacted Vodafone and they are doing a direct swap tomorrow. I am 9 days into my 14, they were reluctant to give me any extenstion on that. After some haggling and persistence I have got it extended by 5 days (not a lot, but means I will have the new phone for over a week before making my decision).

I think what helped was that they said they couldn't extend, so I said I would simply terminate the contract, return the phone, and then call again to arrange a new contract and receive a brand new phone, but a lot of hassle could be saved for both parties by simply extending the 14 days grace!

It seemed to work!

Thanks again
