Hi,
Does anyone know where I can re-install the X-Series launcher application again, I had to reset my N95 the other day as I had some apps that got stuck and would not uninstall or reinstall.
By the installer I mean the app that ran when you clicked the left top button (under the screen) on the N95.
Any help would be appreciated.
Mike
I lost the launcher app on my 6120 after I did a hard reset. I don't think you can re-install the launcher, I phoned 3 c/s services several times to see if they could send me web link to down load it.
All they kept sending me were the standard 3 web settings and after talking to I csr I ended up getting sent the settings about 10 time.
I also lost the x-series apps when I reset my phone, but was able to download them again.
I am not sure if this would work, one option could be to re-install the phones firmware to see if the launcher is included in the firmware. It could be that the firmware does not include the launcher or x-series apps and you would then be in the position of having to down load the x-series apps again.
I was fortunate as my phone was faulty (which was the reason I reset mine to try and clear the fault) my local 3 shop replaced the phone as it was a new phone.
If you do re-install the firmware it is done at your own risk, as occasionally it does go wrong.

The Launcher just disappeared on my 3Skypephone and I didn't do anything to it.

humm... I am sure I stumbled across the launcher somewhere on their site but I don't like leaving emails as they always insist on calling me (usually when i'm in a meeting at work) rather than email.

The launcher is included within the standard firmware build of the handsets. One of my family members reset her Nokia 6120 and discovered that the launcher was missing. She called 3 and sent it off to be reflashed and it came back with the launcher.

Does surprise me that all the other apps are available from the x-series part of the website with the exception of the launcher, don't see why they can't add it to the list of downloads?

I had this happen to me. Nokia Service Centre sorted it all out for me by re-installing the firmware again. It must be the 3 branded one as this come with all the apps pre loaded.

There are two ways to get the apps back. Get them individually or re-flash the firmware. Nokia Service Centre should help ya out.

You won't find it on the Three Website. It's built in to the branded firmware.

Well I did reset the firmware by holding down the three keys (can't remember which now) and it did indeed reset the firmware but the launcher did not come back.

No that won't bring it back. That will take it back to factory settings before the launcher was installed. The ONLY way is to re-install the three firmware, which is the branded one. That is the only way. Nokia Service Centre is the only way or try NSU. Use the product code supplied with your three phone.

Does that mean sending the phone off? I think i'll have to live without it in that case, shame as it's the rest of the x-series software and the "planet 3" button still work fine.

No no. Don't you have a local Nokia Service Centre? They normally flash it in a couple of hours and give it back to you the same day. If you have to send it off I would advise you do as now you can't access planet 3 or other 3 services as the phone doesn't have the certificates anymore.

Ok, I think I might be confusing everyone here now (sorry), I have lost the Laucher application but everything else on the phone on the planet 3 seems fine, I can view Mobile TV, use messenger, skype etc and mobile mail without any touble. It's just the launcher application that had them in a neat menu that has gone.

See if it's still in the "Applications" folder. Will get back to you. Im looking through my phone memory to see where the Launcher app is saved.

it's not under applications or application manager, as I say it's a shame but not the end of the world that I have lost the Laucher application (and the mobile tv icon) from the application menu, the mobile tv still works ok when I go though planet 3->services though.

same problem here, it's annoying that I can't get hold of the launcher, just so I can get hold of the icons for web apps like orb...
Come on three, we're saving you money by not sending the phone back, help us out by allowing us to sort the phone out fully ourselves!
