Hi everyone, does anyone use their 6120 for GPS navigation, and if so how?
I currently use a bluetooth GPS receiver with a PDA loaded with TomTom and igo to do this, works a treat but it is a pain having to cart the separate bits around and making sure the PDA is charged.
Any input will be appreciated.
I have just installed nokia maps which is a free down load from the nokia web site.
You will need to make one connection to the nokia maps service, once you have made the connection, you can then install the maps via the nokia map loader application and a card reader on your PC.
If you want voice navigation then you will need to pay for this.
You will still need to use a external gps receiver.

I have used my 6120 with two different bt gps units both cheapies from ebay ( holox 54 channel receiver and i-blue 737 ) with very good results. I have tried Tomtom and route 66 for navigation and various other mapping programs for walking off road - smartcomgps and Viewranger. Despite the small screen it is very usable. There is also the excellent free sports tracker from nokias beta labs if your interested in that.

I have just started selling garmin mobile xt at work and tested it on my 6120, absolutely brilliant! uk maps pre installed on a 512mb sd card and the maps only take 256mb meaning plenty of space for speed cameras and extra points of interest. europe is £99.99 and UK is 59.99. ull still need a gps reciever but i have been able to run garmin maps without a gps reciever in demo mode to show my customers and they are sold straight away! any symbian s60 device, windows and a huge compatibility list! everything u know about sat nav with voices, points of interest all pre installed with no ongoing cost apart from the map updates and speed camera and traffic alerts if u want it. better option then nokia's if u want voice guidance

I also have a PDA with Igo but installed Tomtom on the 6120. It works well, the screen is clear enough and so is the volume of the instructions. The options are the same as in the PDA version and is very easy to go through them using the keypad.
Now, the battery life of the 6120 is not the best so you will find hard to use it a your main navigator, it would have to be charging all the time if you want to use it as a satnav + phone.
Also the PDA's touchscreen is really irreplaceable when driving as is so much easier to make any change in the settings. I will keep the tomtom on the 6120 for when I am on hols.
Finally if you plan to buy something, I suggest you wait a bit and get the igo8 PDA version which looks just great!

Which TomTom program would work with this phone? Mobile or Navigator?
And which version number?
- I can't see the 6120 listed on the TomTom website as being compatible:(
Is the mobile version 6 for Symbian s60.

Is Nokia 6120 compatible with tomtom 5? If not do you know any other good but free navigation programs other than Nokia maps because Nokia maps are NOT free as someone mentioned above?

I can confirm that the Nokia Maps application and maps ARE free.
