Nokia claim it will be around 450 euros unsubsidised when launched, which equates to around £315.

But the key question. Does anyone know when we will be able to purchase. I am in a quandry, I want to but it, but dont want to leave T-Mob. My SIM only deal of £20 for thier web and walk with nominal minutes (just 50, that I never use) is great. I think I will buy it for my personal xmas present

The phone looks to be about end of November now I think. A few websites (Amazon.de & phonesonline.ie & expansys.co.uk)have it for preorder now so can't be too long. Yes two of sites I mentioned are outside the UK.

The price is looking quite good at the moment Amazon.de has it for EUR 529 inc Taxes and delivery with a promotion of EUR 20 off. So might see it over here for £365 inc VAT sim free. No slider means fewer returns so will be cheaper than the N95's for sure.

TextBundle - if your contract is up give 3 a call and say you are leaving, order a PAC code to port your number. Then call back a few days before the pac code is due to expire and say you have your new phone what is the best deal they can do for you. I was on the £25 contract got it for £5 a month with 5 months free £35 for the whole year, plus my now unlimited internet package for £5 a month. So I pay £10 a month for 300 any time minutes, 100 txt, 25 video mins, 25 mms, MAX internet (I think fair usage is 1GB). I 've had my N80 for 18 months now so looking to get the N82 as soon as I can

The 450 euros quoted exclude VAT (TAX) though so that has to be added for the proper price, Any one want the link to the Amazon.de listing?

Any issues with me buying from the .de site? into the UK? apart from taxes

Valentino

There wouldn't even be any extra Tax's (cause germany part of the EU so you pay the local Tax and no more) no import Tax into the UK unlike importing from the USA. The problem is finding a European site that actually ships outside it's own country.

See the links on my blog http://www.valentinogozi.blogspot.com

I have found a Swedish site selling the N82 Today!!! Thats right they say they have 49 in stock, but they won't ship to the UK :(

So yes there is an Issue I can't find any sites that will ship to the UK at the momeny.

If you buy within the EU, do you have to pay taxes?

Valentino
22-11-2007, 04:42 PM
Within the EU you pay just the local taxes, no import export tax. Buying a nokia anywhere in Europe gives you the European Warrantee. But USA or APAC phones you don't get the warantee

The phone is released in Sweden but none of the Swedish websites will ship to the UK :(

I have found a German website that will ship to the UK but it's down as pre-order at the moment. Only out in Sweden at the moment

For all the links check at my blog http://valentinogozi.blogspot.com/

Into the UK... I believe so. 14% Import tax + 17.5 vat.... I think.

Valentino

No there's no import TAX (or Tax to Pay at all) from any EU countries, thats why people go and get tons of Booze and Fags from france. It's only non-EU countries that you pay import TAX on, but then you don't get a valid european Nokia warantee if you buy from somewhere like the USA so it's double trouble cause you got the TAX and you have to ship it back over there if something goes wrong. The Nokia Packaging is different for each area of the world Europe, APAC and USA.

Reputable seller. Total price for shipping to uk is about $770/2=£385.

Don't forget taxes though.

How did someone in the US get stock of N82 phones before they are out in the UK :(

Don't forget the Taxes, but also don't forget you have to send it back to the USA for any warantee issue's, a US phone won't be touched in a UK nokia service center.

Top ebay store though good post SirGbolalot, a good find too.

I may ask how much the Taxes are on it into the UK. They only have six so I'm sure the US citizens will snap those up sharpish.

I begged the swedish site again today to send me a phone, but it comes down to the computer system not being able to take non-swedish addresses. He wouldn't simply put one in a box and send it out :(

I want one sim free - some websites are suggesting it wont come to UK until January 2008 :( Anyone know what the price will be ? Does Nokia still throw a wobbly about enforcing a warranty in EU for a phone bought worldwide ?

I own (yes OWN) a Nokia N82 sim free now. Bought from a friend who imported from Ebay seller.

Using it on 3 and everything works fine (well not all of planet 3) but HSDPA, MMS etc...

Also used on T-Mobile with no problems. Was a fully ready retail boxed unit with the memory card.

Really great phone!. Been using now for 2 days and only just need a charge to make sure it lasts tomorrow but the camera is really clear thanks to the flash!

The N82 phone is on ebay.co.uk for £364.98 inc, it's a power seller as well so can more than likely be trusted (Can't give full assurance because it is ebay). o2 had given a release date of 10th Dec but this has supposidly now been put back to 31st Dec so yeah might not see it until January.
Cheapest Import from a proper USA website I have seen is £380 inc delivery and Import VAT (Mobile phones have to pay a 17.5% import VAT but no Import Duty)

Carphone Warehouse website now has it available from O2 - free on £35 18 month contract upwards or £55 12 month contract. I'll wait to see what happens on other networks though. Current contract with voda has 3months remaining anyway.

They have started offering me upgrades - but I must be patient .... so i keep telling myself.

Hi Mrwoodz,
I have the same package from 02...what upgrades are they offering? Did they offer you any data bundles?
I am very pleased with the phone but a bit scared to step out onto the street and start using gps for fear of big unexpected bills at the end of the month

Hi, I've bought SIM free(non-contract) for 450 GBP.The reason is that N95 is a slider(hate sliders!!!) and also there is to many probs with N95. After charging and basic set up (wlan, sync etc.) is working fine.SUPERB phone!!!Btw the phone is running third day with heavy usage (emails, calls,BT connection) and still keep half bars on battery meter.

I have a freind in the USA right now, over there it's $529 delivered, so around £265. It's the european warranty aswell.
