Well it wont be before xmas, as vodafone have an exclusive on it for 8 weeks since launch, but ive heard that it could be January. Ive heard its in the new 3 book as coming soon, but I havent actually seen it for myself.

To be honest, people are just guessing. Vodafone have an exclusive on the 8GB for a few more weeks, and its expected in January on 3 sometime. The N82, well, no one knows about this at the moment. Look out for the new 3 catalogue which should be available next week some time for more info on it.

Today I went to Three UK site and used that chat.
Asked the guy which phones Three will launch and he said the Nokia 6500 Slider (I dont care :) ) in December and he said:
Nokia N95 8GB in January.
After the N95 8GB Coming soon in the Three magazine and what the guy said today, I think we will really have this phone on Three :)

At last it has finally arrived!!!

Bit confused why it is not available with the x-series add-on. The N95 is and the 8Gb version is when it is on other countries network.
What is going on with that

I just rang up and it seems the customer services upgrades department don't know anything about it lol. I had to tell them where to find it on their website!

I finally spoke to someone who knew about it and he said im the first person to ring up about it lol.. he said that they are taking pre orders for it and i'll get a call back within a week. He said the phone is still not currently available.. me thinks the website people need to talk with the customer service department more often :D

But this is good news as it is acutally coming very soon! He seems to think three will have it within a week.

Regarding the x series I didn't get a chance to ask but I assume it will be ready for it and just has not appeared on the x series tab on the three website yet as an option.

I guess so, but it does allow you to get unlimited internet max, but I am not too sure of what the difference is between that and x-series silver.

I am going to try a 3store tomorrow and see what they say. Hopefully they will have them in stock, but if what you said is true then I will not hold my breath.!!

You might get more sense outta someone from there, give it a go.. It is very strange the responce I got on the phone with customer services. As on the three website with the deals for the N95 8GB it states "This offer is available until 31st December 2007"..

So the deals are actually there!.. and it looks like you can even proceed to order and checkout.. Even though the guy said to me that we are still waiting on the updated deals.. and the handset is pre order only at the moment. Maybe there are better deals to come?

Called them today and was told at the moment the N95 8GB is web exclusive on the 3 network but should be available for upgrading over the phone in Mid January (2nd week I was told!)

I also spoke to three about this earlier today and was told that it wasn't available as an upgrade option yet. The guy I spoke to at cs said to call back on th 16th of January (:confused:) when I should be able to upgrade to it. Mind you, he tried quite hard to get me to upgrade to a standard N95 and kept on saying that the N95 8GB is too expensive.

I then called the Oxford St store and they confirmed that the phone isn't available in store yet and is only available to new customers on the web. They couldn't say when they are expecting to get any stock but I guess it should be soon.

Does anyone know anything about the £15 video package that 3 have assigned to this phone? I know that it is to pay for the phone but it would be good if it could be used for normal minutes/data rather than video minutes as I'll never make a video call. Is this possible or can I skip this package as I will just be upgrading?

I've been waiting for this phone since Sept on three, today I finally was able to order and be rid of vodafone.

I placed the order online, the scheduled delivery is Jan 5th, I had some initial questions the online chat person answered. They told me it was not compatible with X series, but I took that to mean, they had no clue at this time, as it was new. On the up side, they did provide me with a £20 online promo code if I ordered today, which I did.

Oh I said it they answered my questions, well the first chat person couldn't answer and instead gave me an answer to a question I did not ask then ended the chat session, the second person was far better.

The special offer might refer to the free nokia speakers they are providing, well up to 500 of them.

All in all, only a week to go for my phone, and Vodafone's promise to mail the PAC code out on Monday.

In answer to x-series, the x-series silver is all but defunct now as Skype is included on all mix n match contracts. the gold will still be there for the sling and orb but you only really need to pay for the unlimited internet now instead of x-silver

As long as it's a 3 SIM, there should be no issues with doing that.

This is not the case. X-Series Silver allows access to much more of the internet (and more ports) compared to that of the Unlimited internet addons.

Not sure why you have not yet got an confirmation e-mail but the reason why you did not have the option to select insurance is because 3 are currently in dispute with their main insurance supplier (CPP) and have stopped directly offering insurance for the time being.

You may get a call over the next few weeks from a third party company though offering you a deal on insurance...

I have two contracts with three (one was for my wife) I called them up last Friday as she was due for an upgrade - asked about the N95 8GB and was told that it was not available as an upgrade - I told them to cancel the contract and was put through to someone in cancelations who tried every trick in the book to retain me with offers of alternative phones and better price plans.

They spent literally half an hour trying to talk me out of it. When I told them no other phone was suitable they asked me to wait until Monday and that they would call me back with a deal. Monday came and went as did Tuesday and Wednesday but no callback from three. My wife wanted a new phone so I bought her an iphone this morning and called three up to make sure the contract was cancelled. They spent another 25 minutes trying to talk me out of it and suggested they could provide me the N95 8GB in one week. There was no guarantee and based on the experience of waiting for the original N95 and the fact I had already bought another phone I cancelled the contract. My wife had an N73 and was spending about £45 per month with addons and had been with three for over two years.

I asked about the N95 8GB as an upgrade to my contract - but my unlike my wifes contract, mine is not up for renewal until june. Even so I am spending £60+ every month and have been with three for nearly 4 years. They told me to call back in a couple of months.

You can always buy your own insurance. Google Lifestyle Services Group for one company who offer this.

Also, check with your bank as some banks can provide mobile phone insurance as part of their packaged Current Accounts. I bank with Lloyds TSB and get my phone insurance with my current account, and it's included within my monthly fee.

hi there, have i just been had over by 3 customer services?? i have just had a call from them due to me cancelling my contract as my 12 mnth's is up. they have offered me a really good deal to stay with them but was told i can't have it with a n95 8gb as they have had to return all of their stock to nokia due to a software fault, apparently they have had loads of problems from customers who have just received theirs. the cs guy said he couldn't give me a date as to when it will be available and to avoid losing the deal i have reluctantly accepted an LG viewty - i suppose i have the option of returning it if the n95 comes back in stock in the next 14 days!!

Exactly the same happened to me yesterday. It was only on offer to new customers through the website according to the CS rep. Why treat existing customers as second rate citizens? Surely it should be the other way round when it comes to preference.

Can the 3 employees on this website shed any light on this matter? I am 3 months overdue upgrade because I wanted this phone and I have patiently waited. Now its out I cant have it - joke. 3 years loyalty and for what. Contract being cancelled tomorrow

The closest you get to actually buying one is to get it online but even then it was more of a pre-order type of thing. I expect these will be available as upgrades next week or the week after once they are actually available to buy in stores.

No. It's above the camera at the very top of the phone. I guess it's reasonably discreet but they've obviously put it there so your hand doesn't obscure the logo while you talk.

Same as my existing deal with Three at the moment. Free Handset, 600 mins, 400 texts, 50 pic messages, £5 downloads etc etc for £45. He did say that that there was only one other option and that was to pay £50 for handset and £35 a month but I cannot remember the actual full deal. If I'm being honest I could probably phone back just now and would probably get another offer. Worth a try if you're due an upgrade

Yep. I wasn't eavesdropping, but I overheard the customer and 3store staff talking. It was definitely an upgrade.

But there may be differences between stores. Andover is one of the newly opened flagship stores so it may be down to the status of the store.

Yes, another edit. Just notices a problem, on the right side of the phonethe slider kinda lifts up and so when i slide it up to view the keypad and then hit one of the buttons on the front cover it makes slight clicking noise, is it just me or does anyone else gets it as well...

The original N95 is £24/month so I was thinking the 8GB would come out at £27/month.

Maybe they've brought it out at £30 to make money from all the people who have been waiting for it and will pay that, then they'll drop it later.

£30 with the handset free is still cheaper than Vodafone, who are the only others doing the 8GB at the moment so it's not a bad deal.

That is stupid - faithful customers should get better deals than people walking in the shop I think - not worse!

Did you call the retentions team? (i.e follow the options to cancel your contract) - they can offer better deals

The other thing you can do is to give notice to cancel your contract - you normally get a load of calls during your notice period to try and offer you deals.

Worse case is you can ring up a few days before and say you've changed your mind and dont want to cancel.

Of course, if you can't get a better deal you could always go into the store and upgrade through them - if they can't do a better deal, they'll at least do you it for £30.

V 11.0.026, yes apart from slider its awesome, there is a tiny 3 logo above the camera which blends in with the Nokia logo so its all good. But the slider thing is kinda annoying as when i press the keys on left they are rock solid and when i press the keys on right they click in which isnt very good, i dont have a 3 store in my area so i'll go and speak to carphone warehouse people and see if this is a geniune problem or did i just get a faulty piece. But it'd be better if anyone of you could confirm that since some of you would be getting urs soon.

In practise it doesn't work like that though because the update has to be made available for the 3UK product coded phone for us to get it, unless you change your product code to the generic one but then it will loose the 3 branding etc.

The camera is awesome though... i'm not installing any applications or music yet cause if i return it i'll have to clean it up. Software updater installing now....

Strange - did the updater say what version it was on about?

PS: You don't have to hide the product code - it's the same for all N95 8GB's on 3UK. It's the IMEI (long number) which is unique to your phone.

Ohh right...LOL... alright that was just me being stupid.... No, the software updater did not tell me which version it was, it just said it had an update.

I was hoping the same, however i think its just me for now...huh... i really wanna find out about the slide cause i wont keep a faulty phone... i mean lets be honest i'm paying for it so i should get a proper working product.
