ive jus bought a factory unlocked one for £440 including postage £380 seems like a great price, some are going for £500+, but as you prob know depends how trustworthy the seller is.

I'd go for it if you want one now, or if wait a couple of months to see how they come down in price.

If it were me I'd go for it.

I gotta ask a question....

Are all you people paying £400 - £500 for an N95 8Gb already owners of an N95?

Do you really think the improvements in the 8Gb version are worth £450??

Don't get me wrong..I have an N95 and the 8Gb version *does* look attractive, but I found myself wondering if the improvements would make much difference to my usage of the phone.

Battery has never been a problem for me as I have a desktop charger, a usb charger and a Brodit powered car holder. The bigger screen would be nice..but £400?? I don't think so. The 8Gb internal memory looks great, but the loss of a memory card slot?? Hmmmm

I *love* gadgets, but even I don't think I could justify spending that sort of money to replace my N95 with a moderately improved model!

You can recoup some of the losses by selling your old n95 which should go for around £200 so it's not really paying £400-450.

Also you get 8GB memory already so I don't have to buy a memory card like I do all my phones which saves more money too...

Anyway I think it's worth every penny.

* The buttons are MUCH better. I can actually enjoy a game or two now...
* The screen is bigger and better.
* Don't forget the RAM. I use to get out of memory messages all the time, now I don't. You have about 4x as much available memory.
* Better build quality.
* Battery life improved.
* Feels faster and some nice software tweaks.

I'm an N95-1 user who won't be upgrading to the 8GB; I might pay £50-100 for the changes, but not £200-250 plus hoping I can find a buyer for my existing phone. I think the upgrader market, while it does exist, is going to be pretty small.

I dont need convincing, have a play on the 8gb a few times and want one. I sold my N95 for £190 a few weeks back (had a couple of scratches (small) on the front. I actually passed up on the offer, I just balked at the cost - £380 for a phone is crrazy! (Pretty much £200 more expensive than an N95) Was just thinking what I could buy for that. I am usually unsensible and buy silly gadgets but this time I didnt, I'll wait till it comes down to £300.

At the back of my mind all the time is the fact that the next big Nokia phone most likely will be out in Q2 - hoping for VGA/WGA screen, maybe even touch screen - but yeh Q2 is a long way away unfortunately!

I wasn't convincing, just responding to the poster that was above me. ;)

Anyway back on topic I think prices will go down after Christmas especially if companies like 3 release it. They always seem to offer the best value packages. Are you on contract at the moment? I'm with T-Mobile 18 months contract so won't end until next year October so hopefully by the Nokia will have released a successor. I can't wait... I tend to upgrade a phone at least once a year so it annoys me like hell many contracts are 18 months now or even 2 years. :eek:

Paying £400 pounds seems pretty extreme when you can get it on a 12 contract at vodofone for £35/m and £100 for the handset...that's £520 over 12 months. You could change the contract to cheaper for the last 3 months, if you are really tight.

Sheeeit, £400 pounds could build a pretty good PC!

Its not even THAT bigger a screen, really. Can always just get a black case for it! and at least we can expand ours to more than 8GB (I've got an 8GB right now bought it when it came out last week monday!) but thats all your stuck with :P I'm happy and PROUD of my N95-1 :D

Of course it's fake. Have you never heard "If an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is"?

Using my crystal ball I can tell you that the seller will not take paypal or credit cards, only Western Union or Moneygram or similar. Even Western Union themselves say only use it to send money to people you know.

Nice price Chrisp7. If you dont mind me asking, was it from a shop or private? Thats a realy good price. Ive decided to stop faffing around with the iphone and w960 and just go for this. Thing is im going travelling soon for a few months so am tempted to wait till i get back and see how much it has dropped in price.

Not it was a private seller, I found him on gumtree, he seems to have a contact who works for Vodafone. Do you live in London?
