Hi

Of course I don't want to get anyone into trouble but I just wondered whether any O2 staff know if the prices of P&G handsets o2.co.uk are likely to drop again before Christmas?

I've got my eye on an SE K800i and am hoping it'll drop to 79.99 at which time I'll put an order in.

Cheers recharge.

I tried 3 times to order one from the O2 site last night on P&G but it appears they don't want my business.

tried three times with 3 different credit cards, all declined, phoned the compnaies this morning and they had all authorised the debit so dunno whats going on (funny how the cards are fine when I want to top up though)

I've mailed O2 to ask them, hopefully I'll receive a response soon.

Any staff member advise whether there's a problem with processing payments on the shop site at the min (though trying to get an answer to a question like that on here is equivalent to pissing in the wind I fear).

id go with another network. a small problem like this is usually the sign of bigger problems to come when you have an account with them

Some of the other networks prepay rates are much better value.

I ended up buying one from a mail order catalogue and put my O2 SIM in it (had it converted to a 3G one a couple of months ago)

Think it was O2's dodgy website (they have no problem allowing me to top-up with my credit card though)

Have been an O2 customer since July 06 and with one or two exceptions, I have to say the service I have received has been good, both from a coverage and CS point of view.

I'd dearly love to know what their shop software has against me though as all the cards I tried to use were in good order and I have an excellent credit rating.

Yes I know that 3 are better value but I'd rather stick with a company that has UK based CS and are more established (bear in mind that 3 are only 4 years old and are operating at a loss)

Many thanks for your input though.

.

Hi again pctech.

Sometimes the o2 portal does have difficulty processing customer card details, this is due to stringent security precautions imposed by the banking community and is beyond o2 control. Obviously o2 would love to process your order but from time to time payment is declined by the bank's server for no apparent reason.....the banks simply insist that it is in their customer's best interests.......

But it wasn't declined by at least one of the cards I tried (the issuer told me their server had approved the transaction) unless MasterCard put the kybosh on it.

I think O2 should implement Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode to give both their customers and the banks more confidence.

I can understand the caution though, a few weeks back some oik decided to use my Mother's credit card details (she is also on O2) to go shopping on the t-mobile site and her bank let it through!

Anyway, am happy with the service I receive from O2 and so wouldn't change.

Keep up the good work blueharvest but get someone to sort the damn shop site out.

Have a good Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

.....we never know when the prices will drop until a day or so before they do.

The k800i is now £79.99 and is likely to be discontinued shortly. ;)

Yeah I know and I paid 99 quid for mine from the mail order catalogue in the end, grrr.

Seems a good solid phone (I noticed that it was in O2's business line up for a while along with winning quite a few awards so thats why I bought one.

Shame to see O2 is dropping it but I know it has been superseded by the K810/850.

Its good to see SE is back to building good solid hardware once again
