Sony K770i and messenger shambles

Hi all,

I persuaded my wife to move to three primarily for winmdows live messenger & skype and so that I could also get these services when my contract with O2 is up in January.

The service we have had has been eye-wateringly poor, the only reason I haven't told them where to shove their phone and waited for them to take court action is that I'm a geek and three are the only network offering messenger and skype functionality at such a good price.

I won't go into detail about some of the stuff we've dealt with as it's kind of resolved, however no-one at three can tell me when Messenger will be available on this phone.

I've been told that they are updating the software at the server side to make it compatible, but I'm hacked off because no-one will say when it will be available. (That is when I actually get a customer service representative that actually understands the concept that I try in vain to convey to them)

So any ideas or rumours?

Will things get better once it's all sorted because I'm geting shivers at the prospect of having to phone them again!

Yeah the customer service isn't exactly up to scratch is it...

I too have actually phoned them about this. When I phoned I made it clear that I already understood that Messenger was currently not available on the k770i, and then asked if they knew when it would be available. I then got put on hold for about 3 or 4 minutes only to be told that Messenger currently isn't available. I couldn't believe that I had waited on the phone only to be told what I told them!

When I bought the phone I asked about it, and I have heard the same sort of response from a few other people and apparently it is usually around 1-2months after the phone was originally released. Unfortunately I don't know when the phone was released and cannot really put an estimate on it...

Anyway, hopefully someone will come on here and perhaps be able to shed some light on this situation.

Try this http://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/showthread.php?t=55600 although originally for my W850i it should not matter really as Java is Java and should work on all SE phones that support it. K770 has 320x240 screen so should work.

btw. had the same problem when got my 850i. MSN was avail on K800i but not 850i for a while. why I don't know as they are the same platform! go figure.
